Eliminating enemies hasn't been so satisfying since Doom. Some people here wrote that it is the spiritual successor of BPM. Personally that game did not stick with me, but this did.
It is wonderful that you can import custom music. (The stock songs are also great!) Like, I have been been playing with Phonk song that go so hard my mind explodes.
It is challenging, like any game with similar elements. There are many weapons and utility powers, which allows you to play a little differently each time.
Cons - or rather things I would like to see / do differently:
I wish there would be more difficulties. ( Easy mode with more opportunities to heal up)
Taking damage with collision with any enemies seems a little unnecessary, but I may be a noob yet to handle this.

This game really brings back the old Carmageddon times. Honestly when Reincarnation (previous version of the game) came out it didn't really stick with me, it was buggy for me and unoptimized. Fast forward to today, I picked this up and wow, it is really good and rather stable on my PC. Sure there are cons, but really this game is something you shouldn't expect perfection, balance, etc.

It is the classic Carmageddon with the usual humour and mindless wrecking and destruction, but that is executed pretty well. One example is that all the cutting, crushing, killing gadgets on the cars are actually working really well - one thing I haven't experienced in previous carma games or at least not at this extent. You have a big spike on the front? Then you will see the cows impaled on it. Blades on the wheels? Once you hit the peds with them, they will end in a dozen pieces.

Sure, the car physics is a bit wonky (as in the classic old game) and sometimes wrecking the opponent cars may become a chore (you can buy powerups with earned points so it balances out). It is not punishing at all (eg: if you do not win the race, you still keep the points and any rewards collected).

TLDR: buy this game!

This is hands down the best 2 player split screen game I have ever played. I played with my girlfriend and we both liked it.
It Takes Two was definetly made with the level of passion we see very rarely in today's games. Thank you Hazelight!

Time to replay it with switched characters :)

Pro:
The story is great and impactful, with right amount of humor and references (which are also in game mechanics, characters and level design)

Game mechanics are just brilliant. It changes on every level, so it doesn't get boring, it feels like you are playing a completely different game every time there is a new level. Also it creates a wonderful synergy between the two characters. You NEED to work together in order to complete the tasks, but do not worry, you WILL enjoy it very much.

Although there are some rather difficult parts when you may need to start the sequence over and over again, it doesn't feel frustrating. I cannot put my finger on it, but it just doesn't make you rage at all. It feels like just the right amount of difficulty, forgiving checkpoint system and "death".

Oh boy. The level design. The level design is just from another world. It is detailed to the last piece, looks astounding and just like the mechanics, it changes all the time. It never gets boring. Coupled with the well written soundtrack it creates an unforgettable experience.

Cons:
The only negative thing is the character (couple) development's pacing. It felt a little bit slow up until close to the end.
Cody and May are a bit too stubborn. However the pro in this con is that it doesn't feel "cliche-y", it is not black and white, thus it is more real. I just feel there should have been a better balance in pacing.

BUY THIS GAME!
