- Games get repetitive too fast
- Some are BS (ship)
- No way to change the difficulty. I want it at maximum speed at all times to get more marbles but dying decreases difficulty.
- Pachinko part really slows down the gameplay
- No way to fast forward the capsule opening
- While I think the minimalist UI is cute and fitting for the game, it sucks as an actual UI

Level design and enemies feel lacking. The first area is too cramped with a ton of traps and hard to see shots from enemies.

The game is too short and the "gimmick" of going fast is not fun, in my opinion. I think rush mode is better than the main mode.

Weapon variety is okay but they should look different from each other, you have either blue guns or orange ones. They could have more distinct shapes to help differentiate between them.

It is buggy, almost every Arena run I get the bug where I can't shoot so i have to finish enemies off with kicks. I've also fallen/got stuck on a small room with no exit, maybe it was inside a ramp?

Arcade mode on Hard is a horrible experience. The last boss has armor, Crouch Cancels a lot, is a lot heavier and seems to hit a lot harder as well.
Beating them doesn't rely on skill as the most effective way is to "cheese" it and doing so encourages really bad habits as a player. Sometimes you get lucky and the AI kills itself.
Having to watch the same "Game Over" animation over and over made me hate some of the taunts. I wish you could at least skip it.

The more expensive skins shouldn't cost 2/3rds of the base game and the palette swaps are a bit too expensive, in my opinion.

Victory animations seem off, like the characters are trying to do too much and ends up looking awkward.

No story mode, abyss mode, tutorials and custom colors yet.

The game is really fun but lacks content right now. I think it will be worth it after a year or two of updates.

EDIT (2025/01/22): They added Etalus, nice.
They also added palettes for under 4:30 Hard Arcade completions, this one sucks really bad.

Too grindy, too much stuff on the screen while you try to dodge attacks and get stuck on geometry and every build feels samey.

It tries to be too realistic but gets boring really fast.

- Everything takes forever to do (crafting, exercising, reading, etc)
- On the other end, things like hunger and infections happen too quickly.
- There's no objective, you just stay alive as long as you can.
- Power and water eventually end but zombies are infinite.
- Not much "replayability". You die and that's it, you don't really try another build, it feels more like roleplaying than making a better character to help you survive longer.
- Too expensive for what it is. If it cost a fourth of its price I could say it's an interesting zombie apocalypse simulation..
- 10 years in development. I get it, making a game is hard but how many more years until it leaves Early Access?
- My friends and I have more fun watching another friend that loves this game play it. We know he's gonna mess up and die. And he's scared of the zombies.

For positives, I can't deny that the game's atmosphere is great and I love the title screen.

Bad port that you can't even buy anymore. Remastered doesn't really fix its issues and costs a lot more. They also killed the servers for the original version.

It's basically the first Hammerwatch with better controls and really boring grind. All the levels feel samey, especially if you played the first one. They even have the same music, that I actually enjoy but contribute to the feeling of "I have done this a bunch of times before".

Losing everything after you die and the tax system are annoying mechanics that I feel are just there to increase the time you need to spend on it.
By the way, a lot of stuff on this game feels slow and/or unrewarding. Character walking speed, leveling, skill damage, item stats...

UI is a bit cluttered but that's not too big of a problem, what I dislike the most about it is the map. I wish I could see it all in one screen instead of having to walk or going to the character menu, then map and having to drag it to see the rest. I rarely see people's pings because they don't last long so I have to be expecting them to do it with my map open.

Also, something that almost all the reviews mention is the fact that you can't rejoin a session if it desyncs. You'd have to use a mod but then achievements get disabled.

tl;dr The game feels like a chore to play, in my opinion.
