Fallout 3 Fix - Windows 10

I have spent a lot of hours yesterday reading/viewing different tutorials on Reddit/Youtube that simply wouldn't work for me. Here's the method that actually worked (Windows 10): Go to Control Panel > Apps > Microsoft Games for Windows Live > Uninstall. Afterwards install the game normally from your Steam library (make sure to delete remaining files from previous installations if it isn't your first attempt (Check: Documents/My Games/Fallout 3 - delete the Folder). When the installation is complete run the game. Click the play button. Obviously, it will crash. Go to your Steam Library, right-click on the game title and go to > Manage > Browse local files. At this point, the game folder will open. Search for Fallout3.exe. Right-click > Properties > Compatibility. Enable the compatibility mode to "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)". Choose to run the program as an administrator. Click "Apply" and then "OK". You may now close this window. Afterwards go to https://www.dll-files.com/ and download the xlive.dll. You should pick the latest version from the list. Download, unzip and paste the dll. file in your game folder. Start the game and enjoy! This might not work for everyone but it was the only way to get the game up and running for me. I have tried everything else, including mods (Nexus) and modifying the game files and it didn't work for me, however these methods seem to work just fine for many users.
