This game has a lot of potential- very cute and charming art style, an interesting setting and a different take on your usual cooking style games- the magic/fantasy element is what drove me to try it out. I was also excited to see that there is a type of AI that you can direct to help you out in the kitchen, meaning a single-player playthrough would be possible.

Unfortunately, that's not really the case. The UI for directing the helper is very clunky, and often there is a delay before they begin to help you. At the moment, playing by yourself simply isn't fun, just frustrating for reasons outside of your own skill level. I would love to see a priority or queued actions system for the helper that you can set up prior to the day starting, or being able to manage/hire staff. At the moment it feels like single-player mode was really an afterthought.

The decision to have the restaurant layout be fixed before a level starts is also a little confusing- sure, it adds to the puzzle element, but not by much other than giving you more things to navigate around/waste time bumping into. Part of the allure of a restaurant game is the ability to customize and design it, and I feel this was a missed opportunity.

There is a lot of charm to this game, but at the moment, it just falls flat in the face of other gameplay mechanics issues that made me give it up.

If you like the idea of Subnautica, but don't want the stress of evading creatures that constantly wish to eat you, this might be the game for you! While it's still in early access, it's a very solid building/exploration sim and watching your little planet slowly change through your efforts is very rewarding.

Very cute and promising game! This feels like a blend of Terraria and Rimworld in all the best ways to me, and I really hope we keep seeing new content! This is early access, so some features are yet to be added, but there is a very solid game already in place and building your settlement is quite fun. Multiplayer also runs pretty smoothly, making this a great game to buy in a bundle for your friends.

A solid critter-catcher with charming art, fun battle mechanics and a thought-out leveling system. I've already sunk several hours into this game and catching all the little monsters is really fun! There's a diverse set of skills and types so you can really mix up your team however you want. However, when I saw there was a frog as a starter choice, I knew I would be sold.

My only complaint is that the platforming can occasionally be pretty frustrating, but it's not terribly punishing most of the time and there have only been a few items I've had to leave behind. From an accessibility standpoint, this can make for a feeling of slow progress as timing jumps isn't always easy for disabled players, but I found I have been able to get through most areas without too much difficulty.

I love the art and the creatures; you can tell a lot of love was put into their design. Being able to unlock different types makes it all the better, with different skillsets and colors to choose from! The game also does a good job of not dumping it all on you at once so you have time to learn the mechanics.

Creatures also have other utilities on the map, like being able to solve puzzles, float the player or swim, and I found that made a lot of the platforming feel more fun and less like a slog through a level. Plus, it's really cute to see your little monster friend follow you around the map!

While I can't say anything about the end game story, I like the one that's been presented so far. The game does a good job of making you feel connected to the world and invested in what happens to the monsters and the keep, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes!

I think this game is polished enough to warrant full price, it seems very reasonable for the amount of content and I think it's very promising that the devs seem committed to releasing free DLC so as to keep the PVP aspect of the game (which seems entirely optional) balanced and fun for all players. Definitely a thumbs up from me!

Promising and full of charm, Cat Cafe Manager is a calm and cozy game that feels more like an idle than an intense micromanager. While there are still some bugs and things that could be improved, the core of it is solid and I love the NPCs and all of the different personalities of the cats. It's been a lot of fun designing my cafe and helping my cats be as skilled and happy as possible before finding their forever home. Currently I'd give it a 7/10.

Some suggestions that would really bump this game up in score for me:
* Ability to manage the task priority of staff. At present they just seem to go for whatever task is closer, regardless of their skill in a certain area. It ends up feeling a little pointless to try and lean into one stat, leaving you feeling stuck making each staff member have the same skillset.
* Items I take off the menu should not be ordered. Not only do I not have the ingredients, it seems strange to go into a cafe and order something that isn't even on the menu.
* Meals/Drinks should have icons on the menu screen that denote which types of customers will prefer them. At present you don't know until you add the item to your menu.
* Cat skill levels/rewards listed on the adoptable requests on the bulletin board should have a color other than white or otherwise be more visible; at present it's hard to tell what the values say without squinting.
* A few more hairstyles (maybe afro-textured or more long/up-dos) would always be appreciated.
* Night time feels a little too empty. I'd love a night market or the ability to continue serving later, perhaps to different customers. Maybe Nightowls that wear little bird cowls and give mixed resources? <3
* Ingredients seem a little too expensive at the moment considering how you must restock nearly daily and only receive the resource from a single NPC type. I feel pushed to make my cafe witch-themed/do witch days to get nectar... this is fine, because I love witchy stuff, but there's not as much incentive to have different decors or menu items/advertisements for the other customers.
---
Suggestions aside, I've really enjoyed the time I've been in the game and I think it is both playable on launch and still holding of promise for further development/changes. I can't wait to see how the game continues to grow. Devs also seem very responsive to bugs!
