Fun gameplay loop and tons of replay-ability with each run, the little detours to unique scenarios are really enjoyable too. Maksim is also a huge twink, favourite character forsure.

Shutting down modding communities is always an L no matter what game, especially from a studio always lagging behind its modding community on beneficial features.

Early Access Review
This game is fun, especially with friends, but personally it could benefit from two things (for me personally) at the time of writing this

1) A training ground - I think itd be greatly useful for players to be able to get to know how shooting works in this game, without only getting the chance of one gunfight a game to get used to shooting. If you could boot up an offline server to try the weapons and work out how best to use them, or maybe a tutorial, it would be helpful.

2) Some more scoping options - I'm sure i won't be the only one, but i personally like to hold down the right mouse button to scope, yet there is no option for this. Instead i can only toggle or double click and hold the button, which I dislike. this is a minute point, but it feels somewhat major for me personally.

Even without these two things solved, i can have some good games and get a few good shots, but it would be a bunch more fun for me if these two things were implemented.

Currently, as it is in early access, I would reccommend this for people who are fans of the original, and want to support the developers with the next installment. If you have not played the first one, that is the best option for you.

Alright, first part will be mainly about graphics. They are much gorier (in a good way) and the music gives a very badass feel, as it did in the first one, but with more additions from more artists. The gun animations are much better, running at a way higher framrate than the previous 30fps they ran at on the first. It gives them a much more realistic feel, while still keeping it interesting with more bizzare weapons like the saw gun (Im not sure on the actual name). The maps look a lot better and have much more interesting backdrops. The HUD and menus also look a lot better.

Onto gameplay, where there are similar weapons to the previous game as well as other additions. You can now sprint with any weapon out instead of needing a melee out. The sirens have become easier to kill, as have the husks, wheareas the stalkers have been improved to be harder to see. The fleshpound and scrake feel similar to the ones in the first game, though they have some changed attacks, like how the scrake will spin with his chainsaw when attacking someone in rage mode. The noises of scrakes and fleshpounds can be heard by every player on the map when they spawn in. Finally, the new boss is Hans Volter, quoted by the president of Tripwire as being "A 100-year-old Nazi evil doctor character that is keeping himself alive with Horzine technology". His main attacks are nerve gas, he grenades, dual weild smgs, and also a drain ability, where he catches a player and takes some of their health to replenish their own. I assume they will add the previous boss, the Patriarch, at a later date, but this boss is honestly very fun to fight, as teamwork is needed to kill him, while still feeling quite difficult.

The major problem would be the lack of things in the game. There are only 4 maps, and only around 5-ish weapons for each class. They are also missing some perks from the original at this date, but will most likely be added. It does not feel like a full game honestly, but it is still definitely fun. Definitely buy the first one if you haven't, and if you like the series as much as I do, buy this one too :)

Fast-paced team based fps that doesnt feel like tf2 :o

Best things are the objectives and side objectives which come with this, as well as the large variety of characters, which leads to a downside. I personally think it costs way too much to save to perma-buy a character, which you will need either 30,000 or 50,000 coins for, which takes a long time. Three different characters will be in rotation for a certain time, meaning everyone can play them for free, but if you get a good card for a class not in rotation or just want to try it, you'll either have to purchase it or wait for it to come back into rotation, which isn't a good feature imo. The characters themselves however feel a lot different excluding a few which are quite similar.

Coins are earned from every game, and more for completing challenges and levelling up. There should be more diverse challenges in my opinion, but this is in beta at the time of this review. The amount of coins seems to lower vastly when at a higher rank however, which means you may only be able to open a case to try and get different loadout cards once every few whole games. This also makes it difficult to unlock characters, as mentioned before. You can get random case drops which does help.

Moving onto cards, there are 6 qualities to these cards (lead, iron, bronze, silver, gold, cobalt). The lead cards will have an additional perk added, whereas the default character cards will have none. Another perk is then added for an iron card, and then another for the bronze one. After bronze, the rarity is only for looks, meaning silver, gold or cobalt cards will have 3 perks also. These cards are unboxed from equipment cases, which cost 1000 coins. The problem is that leads have an 80% of dropping from equipment cases. Rather annoying considering it will take a large-ish amount to trade leads up to a bronze. The trade ups require a certain amount of cards and a transaction fee of coins for each one, for example, three leads plus 500 coins are needed to trade up to one iron. the amounts will increase with the higher rarities, like trading up to iron, which requires three leads but also a 1000 coin transaction fee. Also, though cases can drop, it can take a while for them to.

So, to get to a bronze from coin bought cases, (if you were to unbox only leads), you would need 9000 coins for the cases, plus 1500 for the trade up to iron, and then another 1000 for the trade up to bronze, adding up to a total of 11500 coins, just for ONE bronze through trade ups. Thankfully you can choose which class these are for, but not what weapons or perks you may get out of it. though the trading up may be expensive, it would be more helpful to give higher chances of drop to the iron and bronze cards. The best way to go around it is completing challenges and not buying any cases, only waiting for them to be dropped, then you will have the money to trade up easier.

One thing i would like card wise is trade downs, so you can break a silver or gold card you dont need into maybe two card in the quality below, meaning if you get a good card that isn't for a class you play, you can just make it into some other cards.

As for classes, they feel pretty well balanced, though you will usually lose if your team doesn't have much skill compared to the other team, which makes the games in higher ranks and competitive the better ones to play. Classes are really difficult to buy though, so you'll mainly just see people who only use the characters in rotation because they don't want to have to save up so many coins to buy a character. The prices of these really need to be lowered.

The main concern is that everyone is only playing the same classes in a lot of games because of the characters price tags. The game is fun, and i would recommend it, but it is in beta, and the characters definitely need to be more availiable if it is to challenge other fps games like tf2.

Fun with friends, but when you join online games team play is very rare, and you often end up with people who don't know how to play the game in the slightest. Unless you want to play the hardest difficulty straightaway in order to have good teamates, this game is definitely best with friends.

Not enough players now after being out for this time, the updates don't help out much, and it generally is not designed too well. The world looks great, and the enemies are very scary at times when you are trying to sneak through a street. BUT the spawn locations are always random forgetting the first time you play, if you die with one character you lose EVERYTHING you did with him, even the levelling up, which is sort of realistic but is just a pain after wasting all that time collectiong things just to get killed by stupid things like safezone attacks, which are ridiculous on their own. they may be a good idea, but every game you join will have the safezones being attacked, which many people in the game will just ignore, which sucks because you can't fight off the creatures on your own. The map feels very atmospheric a lot of the time, but it does have weird places where there is a straight barrier you walk up instead of the actual object, such as a hill which makes many feel like you're walking up something flat. (but that's a minor point really)

Overall, i wouldn't reccommend buying it unless you don't want to buy DayZ in case it goes under 15% off for once in it's lifetime, even though it's not finished. Unless you have friends who have got it and would play it with you, it's probably not worth it.

Its a great game, but it does suffer some flaws, like weird lagging animations and bad connection at times. It also doesn't have many players anymore, and a lot of people just use a melee as the lightweight class with skates which is very annoying at times. BUT the customisation is great, with many things i've never used in other games. It is free but a lot of weapons would take ages to unlock with time, but if you are decent at first person games and you know which guns would be the best to unlock first, that wouldn't be a problem. The best part of this game by far is the movement around the map, whether you are grappling or skating, which gives it a diversity of how you can attack people that other games which you would have to pay for would not give.
