Early Access Review
I fell in love with the roguelike/roguelite genres back in 2013 with Risk of Rain. Since then, I've played a very wide selection of games that fall under that purview, eventually learning that my preference is for deckbuilder roguelikes.

So I invested time into Slay the Spire. A lot of time. And, don't get me wrong, I absolutely still adore everything about that game... but I still find myself coming back to Vault of the Void over StS. This game is incredible. The sound design, art style, and the fact that you have more control than usual over how you play your turn and set up, due to retroactively avoiding damage instead of proactively are all extremely welcome.

Overall, I cannot recommend Vault of the Void highly enough, and I'm looking forward to where the game ends up!

I really want to leave a serious review of RimWorld, but I'm going to have to leave half of one. If you're looking at this game, you've no doubt seen the jokes about it being a "war crime simulator" -- that's true. But it's equal parts war crime simulator and heartbreak simulator. I've never been one for skinning humans alive to make leather hats, but I do love animals. And, only in this game (unfortunately), can you get lucky enough to tame the grizzly bear wandering around your colony, sic him on an enemy raider, have him bite said raider's head clean off in one go, and then, three days later, take a bullet to the brain from one of your other colonists who MAYBE SHOULDN'T HAVE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HAD A GUN NATHANIEL YOU ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If you don't and/or won't play Subnautica, then ♥♥♥♥ you.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. It is thrilling, beautiful, and mysterious at every single point.
If you can't appreciate Subnautica, you need to question what it is to be a human being.
