Fun and chill survivors-like bullet-hell autobattler with excellent beats in the background.

Sometimes you gotta sweat a bit but mostly I can enter my zen zone and just bash some celestial RGB circles with cool particle effects. There's enough meta progression to keep me hooked as well, plenty of stuff to unlock from achievements, to characters, permanent stat upgrades and some kind of bounty system ala achievements but you get currency for them.

Will return to this one, got hooked for nearly two hours straight but I need some beauty sleep.

Just look at this! Isn't it beautiful? Lots of potential all around, looking forward to future content drops.

More fun than the arena. The pacing is better and it feels good to get stronger in a span of a match. I hope this sticks with people because the base experience is very polished and enjoable. There are still some balance issues but that's why the game is in early access. If you liked the visceral combat of Battlerite arena and then you'll enjoy battle royale also.

This game has dozens of systems each with its own menu and the game doesn't explain anything. You are left to wander around and figure things out. And while some are familiar, others are completely foreign.

After an hour and a half, I still don't get why I can beat some ships and not others or why my ship misses so much without any negative effects. Not to mention "talents" or whatever they are that are spent once never to return. Then there are stats, so many stats. For your ship and for your crew. I've no clue what is important and what should I get. The ship upgrades menu confused me, I select to upgrade the lockers to get better weapons but the menu asks me to select something else for comparison at which point I can buy... something. Never figured it out.

UX/UI has been a continues struggle for me. Like for example after winning a fight there is this list of actions but some of the list items are not actions and only give information yet they look identical to action buttons. My pistoleer commander says to me she prefers position 4 so I place her in position 4 and the rifle guy in position 3 even though he too prefers position 4. Yet the rifle guy has a skill for position 4 while my pistoleer commander has no skills at all and works just as well in position 3. So the game effectively gave me the wrong information for the situation. There are many, many instances where the game gives me very little or no information so I'm clueless a lot of the time without tools that would let me understand the systems in place. Even though I went through numerous combat, spy, piracy, etc situations I still didn't understand how most of it works.

The overall experience is very rough and unpolished, the animation quality on the lower end, combat both ship and infantry are too slow and therefore boring. Lack of tools - a tutorial or tooltips system - makes learning the UI painful. Learning about systems is fun but the game does not effectively communicate the right information so I can't properly learn the game.

The game in general is unfocused. It attempts to do too much with the resources they have so, as a result, they have a huge amount of systems that kinda work but are unsatisfying in actual gameplay.

I'm torn on if I want to recommend this one but ultimately it was enjoyable, especially for the price I got it from Humble Bundle.

Pros:
* Yuri
* Writing is decent
* Art is not great but it's nice to look at, especially the backgrounds
* Great atmosphere
* Relatable main characters
* Incredible music

Cons:
* Unlikable secondary characters
* The whole story is linear with no choices to make which begs the question why it's on Steam in the first place but then I remember the awesome music it has which could not be possible in a comic/manga or written story form.
* The implementation of the Journal is pointless. It's like they wanted to have a braching story or minigames but ultimately didn't implement them and stopped halfway.
* At times it drags on with obvious content padding just to stretch it a bit longer.

P.S. Remember to download the patch for NSFW content if you intend to play this one.

I bought this game expecting a modern take on the classical XCOM formula. Instead I got a huge buggy mess.

Ground combat is just too damn clunky in almost every aspect from taking cover to how field of vission works, how grenades are thrown, etc. Turns out trained armymen don't know how to shoot around corners...

While I enjoy some of the added depth that Enemy Unknown/Within lacked, the gameplay itself is just subpar in almost every aspect except the air combat part which is better in Xenonauts.

I really wanted to like Xenonauts but that is not happening. I suggest you keep away.

A fine sandbox survival game, still a lot of features missing as it`s in early access. DayZ Should be playable around the end of the year if they implement what they promise.
