I've reached endgame a long time ago and I feel that the game is really worth your money as long as you are willing to put some time into it. However I only see myself playing when the new seasonal playlist starts, or when I have nothing better to do. I also want to point out that the FH5 community have their own racing leagues in which you need to be able to qualify to join by completing challenges similar to Gran Turismo (if I remember correctly). It is much more challenging than what the base game has to offer.

A few things to note, the game runs much nicer than when it was released a few years back, but there still are some minor bugs here and there. Well, the hackers are still evident, with their times on the top of almost every rivals leaderboard. It is just a small issue, since you can probably tell them apart. The desync in horizon open / online racing is still pretty insane, and of course some players still find ways to make the online racing experience miserable, especially most Boneshaker drivers in A-class. I honestly hope that there will be elo based matchmaking in the next Horizon game to separate players who genuinely want to race clean, from the other players that play wreckfest. In freemode, despite being in the same convoy, my friends' blips will disappear after I drive a certain distance away for some reason. This applies to other players who are not in your convoy, but in your online freemode lobby.
Other than these small issues that I can think of the top of my head, the game really is enjoyable. It may get a little boring at times, but you could always try to do different things. Try new eventlab creations, sweat in rivals, or even seek out the league racing communities.
