@Chrisuu Thanks for your insightful comments. It's true, and it's difficult to resist and leaving now could not be an option. We won't know every specific situation and many are silenced. I don't know that I'm giving them a "pass" but understanding that every situation has its different facets and reasoning. Thanks again. It had indeed been a while.

Russian people who still live in Russia may still pay taxes to the Russian government. These taxes finance the Russian invasion, have financed the slaughter of hundreds of thousands, the destruction of entire cities, the torture and the rape of many innocents.

I understand that Russia has made it very difficult to speak up, resist, or even leave the country, but many Russian citizens have done so anyway, and it would be an insult to their bravery and sacrifice if we gave people who haven't done the same a pass.

If people are stuck in Russia, hopefully they are still speaking up in private to their friends and family, or perhaps anonymously on the internet. Hopefully they are resisting in their own quiet ways. Because if they don't, they are complicit in their government's criminal acts, just like many Germans who turned a blind eye to the Nazis were complicit in those crimes.

Because "the only thing it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
