Early Access Review
game's just dumb fun, perfect gunplay with very fluid movement.
only complaint i have is that if you get good guns early on, there's not toooo much of a random element to the rest of your gameplay as items take kind of a backseat to the wide range of weapons in your arsenal.

This game is awful but has probably the best integration of co-op in an open world I've ever experienced. Only play this game if you have a buddy.
You can be in totally separate areas of the city on patrol, or tag-team individual crimes. It's a little annoying that only the host can trigger most story mode flags, but oh well.
Traversal sucks, even with the characters mobility skills unlocked a few hours in. Also, lots of crashes.

A game where you can really just go ballistic. B hop in circles around enemies mowing them down. Pure power fantasy.

This is a short game. It is brief, it is painful, it is real. It follows the story of a man that feels utterly hopeless and disconnected from his life. There is no silver-lining, and it beats you into the ground.
However, the writing style is very distinct and endearing, it contrasts our main character's grim thoughts and circumstances with occasional jabs that can definitely force an uncomfortable chuckle out of you. I highly recommend trying Actual Sunlight as it is cheap and unforgettable.
If you have ongoing issues with depression and suicide ideation, maybe give this game a pass.

Techland have done it again, saving their game with post-launch updates. Parkour feels a lot more tight and nights are now an actual obstacle, as opposed to launch were they were arguably easier than the daytime.
Unfortunately, there are still 3 major cons to the game to me that are unlikely to ever be dealt with in a tangible way.

-Paraglider and grappling hook, especially when fully upgraded, really trivialise parkour. Paraglider's upgrade that basically allows you to play Superman is especially glaring.

-The map is still a huge step down from Dying Light 1. Harran felt like a real city and running around it felt incredibly fulfilling. Dying Light 2's Villedor on the other hand feels overly gamey with glowing yellow and red items everywhere. New colour grading settings make this marginally better, but the city still feels like a prop more than a world.

-The story is bad. Plain and simple. And scripted segments and boss fights in the story are tedious, particularly on a new game + playthrough. After starting new game +, your initial save is overwritten completely and you can't revert to your original playthrough.

Despite all this, the core gameplay is just fun. Combat feels empowering and running around the city is a true joy. If you liked Dying Light, Mirrors Edge, or really any first person melee based game, you'll love this.

This game is painfully tedious. For every 10 minutes of kinda fun gameplay you get equal time spent listening to intolerable dialog and cutscenes that you're forced to sit through. You can skip most pre-rendered cutscenes thank God, but everything else is just a cluster♥♥♥♥ that somehow manages to take itself too seriously and play out like a 12 year old's improv comedy.

Great fighter that introduced me to the fighting game community at large. Gorgeous graphics, great roster and goes real cheap now. Only drawback is it's one of the only major fighting game releases at the moment with rollback netcode, but that should be rectified soon.
