Early Access Review
I was gifted this game.. someone gave me an option of any game under $30 and I chose this one because it looked pretty dank. After I installed it, I played it for 87 minutes before talking with the person and then working with them to request a refund. I was so highly disappointed.

First of all, the game is not out of early release yet, and to be honest, I didn't find it to be much more than a beta version. The loading screens take a phenomenally long time to load.. and when I say a long time, try 15 minutes (for me) every time you play the game. This is something that will surely be dealt with as the game gets closer to final version, but pay $30 for something and have to deal with this now is unacceptable and made the game unplayable.

Also, given the hardware requirements just to be able to get in the door with this game, the graphics weren't all that great. The action was clunky, and the AI of the animals was basic at best. Granted I only played 87 minutes, but the gameplay mechanics and graphics are supposed to be completely finished, yet the whole experience just seemed.. lackluster. Perhaps I should have given it more time, but Steam only offers refunds if you've played less than two hours, and as long as I've been gaming, 87 minutes is way more than enough time to know whether or not a game is going to "get me".

Some advice if you are going to pick up this title though.. do not purchase it unless you have a top of the line video card... mine is not and it was chugging heavily on low to medium settings. A game like this is not meant to be played on settings that low in the first place. Also, wait until it's out of ER to buy it. The long loading screens are strong evidence that it just isn't ready yet.

I wanted to play this game vanilla without mods on my first playthrough, and it's everything I thought it could be. I recently installed Hearthfire, bought some land in Falkreath, built a mansion, got married, adopted to children. If you buy Hearthfire, be prepared to fast travel buying up all the iron in Tamriel. On a less positive note, after a giant killed my cow and chickens, there is no way to buy more. I realize this Skyrim review just became a Hearthfire expansion review, but I find Hearthfire super comfy. Sue me.
