Early Access Review
A fantastic game plagued by a meager and spread out playerbase, inadequate advertising, with dev focus torn between two upcoming games (Starbase and Trine 4).

Its redeeming quality is based upon its gameplay, which has me caught on it so much that I'm willing to play against/with 200 ping opponents and check multiple times daily for games. If you're wondering what you'd be getting yourself into, think subjectively better Mount and Blade combat with better customization. Seriously, the only reason I play For Honor is because of its uniqueness and customization. I wouldn't have to play that mess if this had a consistent playerbase.

For a meager price of $4, this is in the '♥♥♥♥-it-why-not' category of buy. It honestly should be worth more, but hey whatever. Also available on Switch too.

A terribly terrific detective/noir RPG with expert writing that provokes strong emotions and thoughts, sometimes even politically. That's no cause for alarm, no bias in this game! Disco Elysium was easily a fantastic buy, especially during the Summer Sale when I picked it up for $30, and some things will still stick with you after the game ends. Disco Elysium also teaches you that failure isn't all too bad, as when you fail certain checks or such, you'll find it a much more interesting and sometimes better outcome. It made me unafraid to fail, and even refrain from save scumming.

Speaking of the ending (no spoiling; don't worry), let me tell you that the journey to it is more memorable than the destination... however, maybe because I've played in a certain way it's like that? Anywho, I'd definitely recommend this. I've seen lots of people say "it's not for everyone", which could be true. It's one of those games that gets you out of your comfort zone a bit. I think it should be something that everyone should experience if you love story rich RPGs. Despite the lack of traditional combat, my heart was pumping during a certain tribunal with lots to risk on the line, and I felt myself sympathize, empathize, and care for characters in the game. Kim's a total bro.

If you want a little bit of a tip before you start, I'd recommend an average build. Don't specialize, generalize. You have lots of skill points and other bonuses down the road that can help you define your character if you wish. Also, don't be afraid to fail a skill check, like I said prior, and absolutely do not constantly save and go back if you do! That's more like stripping yourself of experience and potentially more entertaining routes to go down.

The gameplay itself is honestly an addictive experience of honing your reflex and rhythm. Call me a lazy bastard, but the game also tricks you into exercise in a matter that I'd dare claim to be more intensive than the likes of Beat Saber. If you like melee combat games for your VR headset, don't pass this one up. It seems like a criminally underrated treat that will leave you sweating yet wanting to go for another round.

Chernobylite is in Early Access, and it is VERY barebones right now. Buy this game if you want to support the developer as of right now, not to experience a finished game.

This game is something that feels like it was specifically made for such fans of series like Metro, STALKER, and the like. I can't help but feel that it takes the best from each and every one of those series and combines it, making it work fluidly. Farm 51 has me head-over-heels awaiting their future updates, as Chernobylite's lore is surprisingly captivating for its early state. This is definitely worth looking into if you appreciate post-apocalyptic survival games that have a horror tone to them.

Pros:
- Very detailed and realistic recreation of Chernobyl's landscape.
- Fun base building and resource management system, very reminiscent of games like Fallout 4 and This War of Mine
- Atmosphere is down to a T. Can't tell you how many times these apartment complexes made me feel very unnerved.
- Decisions that actually seem worth a damn. At the very least, you can see the remnants of a choice you make (or don't) in future missions in a specific zone.
- Recruitable companions that are actually likeable!

Other:
- As the game is in early access, I can't exactly speak for its optimization, but it seems to fare well on my rig. Mind you, it's a very high end one, but I've experienced steady frame rates.
- Early Access bugs and glitches are bound to burn you out on this game. Try and play it in small doses.
- The horror aspect is a lot like F.E.A.R, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, and Metro. It feels like a blend of horror and action-shooter game.

Negatives:
- AI and Combat definitely need work.
- Stealth is way too forgiving. Standing in the middle of the road crouched for five seconds only amounts to halfway detection.
- Aforementioned Early Access bugs and glitches. Yeah, I know, the devs can't help it since they're working on this game, but things like disappearing subtitles make it hard for a non-Russian speaker.
- No clear save and load system (as of right now). Game operates on checkpoints/auto-saves.

It pains me to do this, but TF2 is a classic that's slowly dying off. It feels like with the content they're producing (if at all), it's like it's run by a skeleton crew. Seems like Valve would rather focus more on CS:GO or DOTA 2 than TF2, but honestly I couldn't blame them. It's still a blast to play, yes, but just don't expect necessary balance changes to happen soon.

This game is a breath of fresh air in the MMO genre. It's skill based, where other MMOs are somewhat dependant on skill, you are able to kill a level 100 as a level 1 because of the combat system, which is Mount and Blade-esque. It might be scary starting off, but don't worry, many people will be eager to help you out, and you'll be tagged as a new player up until level 40, so people in the community know who needs help. A good way to put this game is a medieval Planetside 2 with player looting, and the player looting is a great system. It doesn't allow you to be robbed all the way, but they can take one or two of your items on your person. Thankfully said items are easy to come across or craft, depending on what route you take about getting your weapons. Like, you can buy from the market/auction, craft for it, do quests for it, et cetera.

This is one of the few games I would say is actually heavily underpriced, the only bad qualities are the graphics and FOV. You can change the FOV in the .cfg but it looks odd and the ingame FOV slider only goes up to 65, which is disgusting to me that I have to always play third person.

If you like Mount and Blade, Chivalry, MORDHAU, or even For Honor, give this MMO a shot.

Fantastic game, but it has trouble retaining a player base. It's essentially Battlefield 4 with more customization options, down to the barrels, and even for your own soldier. There's neat gadgets too, like self-destructing unmanned drones. However, none of that matters if you're playing on a late Friday night and there's barely anyone else on.

I've played this game for like three years before it came to Steam. Best $20 I have ever spent. Buy it if you fit the niche.

Furthermore, Intruder has a lot of inspiration from the older games that most of us had growing up, Deus Ex, SWAT 3, MGS, et cetera. When the Steam description says this, they aren't kidding. While you won't feel like you're playing parts of these games, the inspirations are very clear, the strongest being SWAT 3. This game is heavily reliant on tactics and wit, so don't feel discouraged if you get shot from a spot you didn't even know. Within time you'll learn the maps and the best routes to play.

There's a lot of systems that prevent running and gunning that go along with the 'tactics and wit' thing. Balance and energy really come to mind. Balance is... well, your body keeping balance as you carry out actions. It's harder to knock someone down who is crouching and standing still, than someone running. When you're knocked down, you can't get up for a moment, and it /somewhat/ depends on your energy and balance levels on how quick you can get up. While you're down, enemies can obviously shoot you or arrest you. Grenades and C4 don't work as they traditionally would in an FPS, either. While they do damage, the damage isn't quite noticeable unless you were to stack them, as grenades and C4 in this game work off the basis of concussion rather than shrapnel. They also reduce Energy, which affects your aim, and if your character has an asthma attack or not, panting himself half to death.

If these tactical attributes and 'realisticness' turn you off, don't worry. This game is by far the least serious FPS I have surprisingly EVER played. Many times has this game brought me to laugh my ass off at hilarious moments. If you're on the fence, it wouldn't hurt to lose $20 for at least two hours, and if you don't like it, refund. I think you can get a good grasp on what the game is for... an hour, I'd wager.

The only downside to this game that I'm afraid of is the development pace. It's not like it's an unfinished game as is, however. It's pretty much complete, which is refreshing for an Early Access game. Rob's doing a great job on the game in my opinion.

Sorry if my review's all over the place and whatnot. I'm not really one to do this, hahah.

TL;DR: Satisfying gameplay, Holdout mode lacking, doesn't seem like much content. NOT recommended at full price. Pick it up at about 60% or more off unless you want to support Tripwire.

Mainly played the Holdout mode, disappointed at the lack of weaponry inside this mode. The KF I know and love has a ton of whack, badass weapons. Not really worth full price but if you're reading this during the sale, it's not a bad idea to pick up for $10. Holdout can get boring and is more of a challenge to see how long you want to run in a circle rather than how long can you go. Difficulty seems to drop off at a certain point, after playing for 15 minutes I noticed difficulty stagnation and I lasted for about 25 more before I decided I got bored. Holdout is a snoozefest of a mode and considering it's like, the other half of the game, I feel confident in basing my review off this. I'll probably touch upon the story mode later but I can't recommend it if you're seeking a solid VR experience like Pavlov, Onward, Beat Saber, etc. stuff you would constantly return to. I hope the devs build more on it though.

I hate to make this comparison, but DayZ and Rust had a baby, and Miscreated was the perfect offspring to match both of their good sides. If you play it, I found it to be the most fun while playing an RP server.
