With a beefy system and making use of DLSS, Quake II RTX at 120 frames per second at 4K on an OLED is the most visually impressive game I've seen in two decades. What I can only attribute to the way the lighting is handled, there is a certain visual depth that it has that every other game just lacks.

This feels like what should've been the next step after Doom 3 and Half-Life 2, but that we are just now getting. I'd be very curious to see other full 3D FPS games from the mid-to-late 90s get this treatment.

A Great Game That Should Have Never Been Resident Evil.

After nearly twenty years since playing it at release on the Gamecube, I return to Resident Evil 4 with this port. The game almost entirely holds up, with my opinion of it being mostly the same: a great game with some nagging flaws, the primary one being that it should've never been Resident Evil.

RE4 is a great Action/Adventure game, and excelled on the Gamecube where it was designed with the limitations of its controller in mind. It transfers pretty well to mouse and keyboard, with an obvious drop in difficulty.

However, it is no Survival Horror game, as the core series had been up to that point. No sense of terror, no fear, no real inventory management, no needing to pick-and-choose your battles to conserve ammunition - just kill all enemies, advance to next area. The tone is also vastly different, getting pretty goofy in story, characters, and scenarios.

All of this works well in its own game, but poorly as Resident Evil. This should've been an original game (like the earliest development version turned into Devil May Cry), or a side-game, like Survivor or Dead Aim.

For the flaws outside of being placed in the wrong series, the most glaring - from 2005 and today - are the Quick-Time Events. RE4 is another great showing that only the Yakuza Team should be doing QTEs in games. The QTEs in RE4 range from pointless to frustrating, with little in-between that is actually interesting. Aside from that, the aiming can still feel overly stiff, and getting insta-killed by an enemy because you're stuck in a reloading animation is always irritating. Thankfully, the rest of the game is so well done these are just some dark spots on a real gem.

So if you want a great and rather unique Action/Adventure game, Resident Evil 4 is definitely worthwhile. If you want an actual Survival Horror game, the HD port of the remake of the original Resident Evil game is on Steam, and arguably the best entry in the series.

Another slickly made game from this developer. Unfortunate that there's currently only two of them, but I suppose quality takes time.

If the developers gave a damn, this could be a great game. Instead, it keeps going downhill, in every possible way.

After nearly 1600 hours, I'm done. ♥♥♥♥ BHVR.

A very straightforward game. What you see in the trailer is what there is. More replayability than I expected. Well worth the price.

Asteroids and SHUMP. Maybe not the best combination, but sure makes things tricky.

This game is stupidly good. Everything about it is slick, from the visuals, to the animation, to the music, to the controls, to the level design - it's classic gaming at its finest. It is one hell of a hidden gem.

And oh yeah, boobs.
