It's goop.

Seriously though, Grim Dawn is one of the greatest ARPGs out there, with interesting and distinct lore. The combination of classes--soon to be expanded--means you can experience the game a ton of different ways. I would absolutely love a sequel for this at some point.

Cannot, at this time, recommend this game. While the initial set of factions are interesting and EG should be commended for producing distinct-feeling card pools, the number of cards-per-faction are such that players are forced into a limited set of designs. There are optimal approaches to UM, Eldar, Tyranid, and Orks that were discovered early on and have now been played ad nauseum that the game--balance issues aside--is now boring. When we factor balance issues into the experience, one has to ask, "why bother?" EG designed UM in such a way that the first meta report indicated Calgar had a 76% winrate: a 76% winrate!

It's absurd to play Warpforge now, and absurd to hold out hope that a: EG understands how to balance their game for fun and viability (it would mean they understood 'balance' and 'fun' contextually), and b: EG can add content fast enough to the game to diversify play styles. If the game still exists in six months it may be worth revisiting, but for the time being, been there, done that, and after Horus Heresy Legions, shame on me for hoping they could green field a new game right.

I liked it. There's a literal "poop corridor" from which you get flushed. What's not to like? Seriously though, the predictable story beats aside, it picks up steam as the narrative progresses and is enjoyable. It performed well for me--though I waited for several patches prior to playing it--and after making it through the first act (which is the roughest, story-wise), it had a good sense of pacing. The environment design, environmental audio, music, and modeling was great. Good stuff.

Outriders is a snowball rolling down a mountain: small and rough at first (especially with the shaky-cam cut-scenes and some of the dialogue), the story and game play eventually forms a coherent mass that impels the experience forward. It has an interesting story line, with some genuinely good dialogue (once we pass that first rough area), and deals with some severe themes by the time the main story concludes. I was skeptical at first of the price of the DLC, for instance, but there's enough content there to make it worth it, and the developers ensured that the story goes full-circle. What's more, there's a mystery at the root of it all that sets the stage for a broader Outriders story line: it's good stuff.

Overall I've really enjoyed this game, it plays well solo or co-op, the story is quite good, and the art and music are engaging. It's well-crafted, and I would like to see a sequel; hopefully one is in the cards.

Found this to be extremely enjoyable and rewarding. The combat is immediate and responsive, the story is intriguing, and the future is bright. Absolutely looking forward to its full release.

This game, in many ways, mirrors some of the accomplishments of F.E.A.R. (for obvious reasons); for instance, it forces players to choose and use a small selection of weapons at any one time, and the game has a sense of immediacy in its control scheme lending itself to direct action (I half expected to nail enemies with flying kicks). The otherwordly effect of a child's voice conjured experiences of Alma Wade, as does the duality found within the persona and actions of the antagonists' structures. With these similarities in mind, is Betrayer a good game?

Yes.

Betrayer is a good game, and stands on its own merits: a strong narrative, striking presentation, and effective use of audio. The dependence on audio cues is rewarding. Dialogue between the player character and non-player characters are accomplished through simple trees, whose options are unlocked when clues are discovered. Roaming the world of Betrayer harkened to Silent Hill, but was animated and alive in a way that allow a player to imagine themselves in the midst of a breathing, sighing forest, tinged and tainted with subtle blood-red cues. When action happens, the player's speakers tend to explode with a rushing, beating heart, and enemies are deadly.

The challenging enemies serve to emphasize the theme of the game, and its narrative. There is a lot of text in Betrayer, and it is well-written; the investigations often reveal cruelty or tragedy, and all tie into the eponymous conceit of the game. I'm not sure if spoken dialogue would have improved things, because voice acting on a budget can do more harm than good, and often precludes narratives from achieving the depth text otherwise provides.

While well written and compelling, the text of the game can sometimes be confusing. Players have to backtrack and search areas again, which made the later game feel systematic rather than fluid.

Stick with it and its rewards will yield themselves.
