An excellent experience when played with quality of life mods that enable extra build radius, better harvester pathfinding, rally points, and other much needed changes. Although the remaster itself is excellent, as it was done 1:1 and the games are very old, the workshop is essential.

Like all Paradox games on launch, it was barebones and full of bugs. With the release of the 1.1 Pompey patch, however, and the development of several major overhaul mods, it has become much better. The game will become better with time, it just needs a chance to mature. The roadmap is solid and the focus on improving the game over releasing DLC is a welcome change. It certainly needs work, but it's not unplayable as others would have you believe, nor is it boring. Give it a chance and you might be suprised.

7/10, needs work but has great potential.

I don't care about the flight stick stuff (I'm using an Xbox 360 controller), so I'll just get that out of the way first. As an Ace Combat game, it reminds me greatly of the PS2 games. It runs very well (GTX 1070 ti) and the story and music are excellent. It's a breath of fresh air after Assault Horizon knocked things out of wack. Now, if we could get a HD remake of the PS2 games (Plus 6 and X) on consoles and PC, that would be great.

10/10, faithful to the original series.

Rome 2 was terrible even before the whole female generals issue cropped up. It's an insult to the original Rome: Total War. The graphics are terrible, the battles lack depth, you're limited to a certain number of armies, you can no longer split units off of armies and command them independently of characters, the music doesn't hold a candle to the first game, and the game is in no way historical. It can't be called historically accurate or authenthic. It can't even be called popular history, because it gets so much wrong, or outright lies. The Daughters of Mars DLC is revisionism, plain and simple. The forced female generals DLC is just more of the same. While women may have had slightly larger roles in Celtic and eastern socities, they never served as politicians, rarely fought in combat, and did not command, Boudicca, Cartimandua, and Zenobia excepted. Female generals simply did not exist in the ancient world, except in a few isolated cases, which were always exceptional.

8/10.

The base game is quite unbalanced, but the wealth of mods and excellent in-game atmosphere more than make up for that.

8/10.

It has really improved since it was released. It's not quite as good as the original Supreme Commander, but it's not a bad RTS either.

Simple, but very fun and imaginative.

One of the best strategy games ever made. It makes the sequel look like dirt.
