First 30 minutes consisted of me doing the tutorial then getting shoved on a boat with more experienced friends and shooting ghost pirates and other players. The ghost pirates died, the players called me the N word repeatedly.

Fun gameplay, less fun player base. Find some chill people to play with and look forward to the private servers coming up.

Charming, chill and crafty. Grab a buddy (or don't) and get building the factory of your dreams. Smooth interface, extremely polished gameplay and a fun setting make this a perfect package for an easy going optimization fun house.

The game eases you into its complex web of optimization features and factory tools, but due to the general lack of any real force coming to tear your stuff apart, its easy to take your time and learn properly. From what I've heard this is heavily inspired by games like Factorio, so if that's up your alley and you want a first-person co-op take, this is it.

Coming from someone who normally gawks at survival games as one dimensional and annoying to engage with, had a lot of fun with 7 Days.

The crafting system and RPG-lite elements with the skill trees are what grabbed me instantly. There is an excellent emphasis on advancing your character and getting better at overall surviving besides just making better stuff and getting lucky finds. Even more so in groups, as each member can specialize to be more efficient together.

Likely going to be forever in early access, but don't let that stop you. Multiple updates over the past few years have kept this game fresh and interesting. Much like many other games in the genre, best enjoyed with a buddy or three.

An engaging dating sim/visual novel that leans more into the latter than the former. Minor amounts of attention are needed to hit it off with each person, the story is pretty decent, but the characters are where the game shines luckily.

Considering the individuals you meet are where the meat of the game lies, they themselves are relatively well flushed out and interesting enough to pursue. While some are very stiff stereotypical molds, most are dynamic and interesting characters that either undergo growth or reveal depth once you start getting on their good side.

I enjoy the replayability aspect in that while the main game is only 20 days, you can do a lot in a day and aim for various goals. Either doing jobs with the guards to learn about them individually, or advancing in your training and main quest stuff to advance those relationships. The ability to friendzone everyone is also a cherry on top.

tl;dr, A VN/Dating sim worth your time if you want to chill and hit up cute and interesting characters without getting too invested in the overall plot.

For a surprisingly fun, witty and sharp package in 30-60 minutes, its hard to go wrong with Helltaker.

The moment you hit go you're given a stellar soundtrack, gorgeous art dripping with character and quirky if one dimensional demons to "seduce".

It's a standard puzzle game with some light rhythm elements that kept me smiling even as I got frustrated in some of the later puzzles. Definitely worth your time.

Buy it so you can play Enderal.

Just make sure you play this first, or you'll be disappointed when moving from a free total conversion mod to a AAA game and realizing the former grossly outperforms the latter.

Asymmetrical team based survival horror with a beautiful free price tag. Find some solid friends, find an empty server (or have someone host one) and then it's a solid ride. Performs well with 5+ peeps but 8+ is optimal. Highly recommend looking into plugins if you have your own server, our group's been having a lot of fun with it.

tl;dr, you can be a spoopy monster, a scared ass guard, and a murder hobo all within one game. For free. Get friends and play it.

The true apex of Star Wars media to date. Thoroughly engaging plot, stellar characters that get fleshed out and feel organic and solid (yet slightly dated) combat make this the all in one package. Vehemently recommending.

I'll likely post a more in depth review another time, but got to put it out there that this game surprised me. The concept seemed cool and fun and I was not disappointed when I dove in.

Enjoying the mechanics of the game, how each area feels fresh and the enemies varied enough to provide intrigue in the combat. It's a tough game, but not too tough or punishing. The co-op is a definite draw, and how your campaign will differ from others also excites.

Highly recommend giving this game your attention, and if possible, grab a few buddies to play with you.

Lots of stupid fun and cringe humour that is all the more delightful being read by you and a friend or two. The druggie ghost kept bugging us on every playthrough, but everyone wanted to do her anyways. So it worked out.
