Outlast II takes place in Arizona rather than Colorado where the original Outlast is set. This game's plot differs from what came before it, however is set in the same universe as Outlast I. You do not need to play Outlast to understand the story of Outlast II. But playing the previous game can help you know how to act when faced with enemies, since this game is noticeably more difficult than it's predecessor. Gameplay will be familiar but slightly altered. The camcorder now has the ability to enhance audio, which can help you detect enemies when in cornfields, hiding in barrels, or anytime you are unable to see your attackers. I feel Outlast II is a very good horror experience, especially with the school subplot which contained the most unnerving sequences in the trilogy for me. Although I enjoyed my 9-hour playthrough of Outlast II, I have my problems with it, which I will discuss now.

-problems I have with Outlast II-
There are long, unskippable cutscenes and moments where you are just literally holding W to proceed. These moments of total boredom kill the replay value, and hurt the experience since you aren't doing anything. The original Outlast had it's quiet moments and cutscenes, but the cutscenes were never too long, one exception is when you meet Trager, but that is the only example found in the original Outlast, and during the moments where you aren't looking out for danger, you aren't ripped out of gameplay.

Some parts of the game, not many but they are there, have you down very linear paths. Even smaller than the most confined sections of Outlast. The worst one is The Lake. It takes an agonizingly long time to get through, and due to all these long plain segments, I find this game very difficult to enjoy replaying.

Outlast II is a fun horror game. A lot of the chase sequences are different and have some variety to them and Jessica Gray's story is the most disturbing child fate I have seen. I like Outlast II. Not nearly on level as Outlast I, but it is a decent horror game. However this game is absolutely not worth 30$. The replay-ability is very bad and the later chapters just come down to holding W or navigating through some generic tunnels. If you want to purchase Outlast II, wait for a sale like I did.

Outlast is a 6 hour long horror game which is set in Mount Massive Asylum. This game is unique among others like Resident Evil 7, in that you have no way of fighting back against you're enemies. The sole focus of this game is the horror and atmosphere, unlike RE7 which has some action and survival mixed in as well. The deep lore will keep you immersed in this universe along with the outstanding graphics for a 2013 game, combined with being reliant on night vision to navigate the dark, twisted hallways and rooms of the asylum. I got this game 3 days ago (purchased 12/22/2021) and as a fan of the horror genre, Outlast is well-worth the 20$ pricetag... or 4$ if you have purchased it during the Winter Sale like I have.

-problems I have with this game-
Outlast's gameplay can be frustrating and repetitive at some moments. Waiting for a single Varient to move out of your way by initiating a chase, then going somewhere it can't follow you, attempting to lure Chris Walker away from a tight area you need to squeeze through, or struggling to navigate Richard Trager's area, and how Miles might close a door in on you while trying to slam it shut behind you, trapping you in the same room as your killer.

Despite these inconveniences, I think Outlast is a short, thrilling horror experience that I would recommend to fans of the horror game genre.

The main attraction of GTAV is the online mode. It is absolutely not worth it. 5 modders in every lobby, second life grinding simulator, oppressor MK2's soaring through the air destroying your personal vehicles... just, no. The story mode doesn't have these problems but online has a lot more content. Not to mention Rockstar doesn't care about this game at all. Guess what they did to help? "Be sure to buy Sharkcards for 100$ everyone" I think people need to start boycotting this game for how greedy and lazy Rockstar is. I will admit Online is pretty fun if you have some friends to play it with! But don't take it too seriously. I still play this game... occasionally, but just know these problems exist if you are going to pick this game up.

TL;DR you have a grindy, mess of an online mode and a lackluster but fine singleplayer campaign

I think this game is pretty fun but it is too hard for me because of the sanity feature but the few minutes I survived I enjoyed hunting for grass and twigs and food to survive. I would recommend this game to people who are looking for a challenging survival experience.

This game is good and very fast paced but the gore being worsened and removal of ragdoll physics need to be fixed. Also after stage 2 Nemesis he is limited to boss fights. I was hoping for more encounters of him searching for you like in RE2 but even before stage 2 this isn't the case. If you manage too lose him he just dissapears and teleports too you in a superhero drop. I have never played the original game but all the cut content needs to be brought back. The game is so short compared to RE2 and honestly Mr. X felt like more of a threat than Nemesis thanks to the dodge mechanic. Also mercenaries mode, I never played this mode either but now that I know what it is I understand why everyone wants it back. Capcom if you aren't going to bring back mercenaries mode at least add a DLC similar to RE2's Ghost Survivors DLC.

This game is fun but CAPCOM still doesn't know how to make fun boss fights.

It is such a good game. The maps are really good though as far as I know all the HM 2 maps need are sold in a bundle excluding Whittleton Creek. Apart from that I would definitely recommend this game.
