This game launched in a bad state but respawn has really put the work in with 3 patches and counting since release.

A ton of bug fixes, the min spec is now a 1080 after the addition of some more graphical options, Oculus users now have Oculus SDK support on Steam, the campaign pacing is much better, you can turn off the forearms on your player model, the scopes are 3D, and most importantly the M1 actually pings now.

This game launched in a really bad state so I held off on playing it for almost an entire month.

Now that the FPS isn't locked to 60 internally, and a huge amount of fixes are coming next week, I can finally recommend this game. If you own a somewhat beefy PC (RTX 2070 Super + 8 core CPU or better) and a VR headset, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't play this game. I play with a HOTAS and it is one of the most immersive experiences I've had with my headset to date, and I have probably 3000+ hours in VR at this point.

I can't speak to the non-VR experience as I don't play on desktop, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is fun as hell.

I was a playtester for this game from ~July to now. I probably have about 60-70 hours of playtime total.

To address the elephant in the room, this game for sure got some graphical downgrades from what we saw in 2018-2019 to accommodate crossplay with the Quest / PSVR. The devs have said a few times they have plans on improving things on PC, but I can only speak to what is currently available. The biggest issue for me is the sniping being... serviceable at best, I hope the devs are able to find a better solution for hardware that can handle it. If you've seen the sniping in Phantom: Covert Ops (another quest title...), it's very similar. However, this game needs a playerbase to survive and if downgraded graphics is the answer, so be it.

What the game lacks in graphics, it definitely makes up for in gameplay. The VR interactions are a little light to be honest (take a look at some gameplay and you'll see what I mean), but I think the devs were going for more of an arcade vibe with this game, and boy did they hit it. This game is an absolute blast with a group of friends. I can't speak much to the solo queue into squads experience as I usually play with a group. If you don't have a group, the developers have stated that they plan to add solos in the future.

COSMETIC ONLY micro transactions are set to be added to the game (e.g fornite, apex, warzone, etc) sometime after launch, along with some sort of battle pass system, but there is a base progression system w/ 60 different cosmetics included for free. The developers plan to have this game as a live service, so this is understandable I guess. They haven't released a roadmap or anything for planned content however.

If you're on the fence, get a group of friends, and the 2 hour refund window is your friend.

They finally added Index support so I can finally recommend this game.

This is very much a "port of a pancake game" (e.g. reloading done with a button, no 2 handed weapons, and weapon scopes are done in a fallout 4 VR style), but damn the world is immersive. Borderlands 2 is a big game, especially with all of the DLC. Shame there's still no multiplayer.

Not sure if the game is worth $50 though. For sure pick it up on a sale.

VR infinity blade with the aesthetic of Furi. If you're trying to cut down waves of bad guys in 1v1 combat while listening to Carpenter Brut this is the game for you.
