Edit: Playing through the game again and it does a lot better than The Division. Personal gripes aside it's a great game to pick up on sale despite often needing to be through Ubisoft Connect if purchased offsite.

As much as I enjoy both The Division and The Division 2, the game is "okay". If you have any experience with The Division, you could compare The Division 2 as it's younger and more stylish brother. It's still the same game, but the mood isn't there. The atmosphere isn't there. Or to better explain the feeling, look at comparison screenshots for Silent Hill and the HD Remaster with much of the fog removal. It's just not quite the same.

Another negative is it's a live service game much like the first. One day in the far future this game will no longer be playable as it must connect to Ubisoft servers in order to play even the single-player. There is no offline play. Console or PC, you're playing on a clock. That alone warrants to buy it as cheaply as possible if you really want to play it. Or opt not to and enjoy a creator playing through it.
