In space, somebody actually can hear you scream. They just have to be really really close.

Take my recommendation with a grain of salt. I enjoyed my time in the game thus far (54ish hours as of the time of this writing), but I do not believe that it was entirely worth the $60 price tag. There are all the well known complaints: bugs, bad AI, etc. Those complaints are legitimate. I was fortunate and did not encounter very many bugs, but I know they are there. The AI is... sad. I mean, the general public in Saint's Row: the Third responded better to chaos in the street. Here, they just stand around and say "don't hurt me". That much is, really, inexcusable.

The story, however, I found good. *GOOD*. It is not great. There is nothing innovative or new to the story telling. It is, however, a decent tale.

My biggest gripe would be just the lack of engagement outside of the core story missions. I *WANT* to be sucked into the game world, but the "assaults" and other odd jobs are mostly the same shtick over and over again, with little to no variance. Enemies standing around doing nothing until you are within 10m, *then* they begin acting. Doesn't feel like I'm stopping an assault. It feels like I'm just stumbling upon some gangers playing pogs in the street, minding their own business until I come up with some hot iron to ruin their day. It's really disappointing, and not befitting a 2020 title.

So, my official recommendation is that if you find it on sale, and like the setting, then by all means, it is a good game. Just not at the price they're asking.
