First things first, even while I haven't encountered many of the bugs, the fact that a mass amount of bugs were pushed through with this dlc, regardless if you bought it or not, is just unacceptable. I really don't know what Gearbox did to the base game to flat out make it worse with bugs (some which apparently had been patched before during hoppo being behind the game) makes no sense to me, how did they mess this up this bad.

Now, onto the actual content. It's... fine? The new music tracks are fantastic, and the new areas are visually great. Unfortunately, that's the best part of the DLC. The Seeker feels boring in solo play, and revivals seem like the only good part of their kit. Chef is fine, even if his M1 feels clunky with it's recall. I understand giving him a mobility option, but the oil coating was one of my favorite parts of chef's RoR1 kit, and it being replaced with just damage is... boring. Not to mention, if you want to use the far more fun Yes, Chef, you have to replace your special (and you have to do a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥ challenge) which is the now worse oil. For the third spoilery character, The false son is a cool idea, and I like the idea of stacking lunar spikes for damage and using them to gain mobility, his whole kit just feels like a worse version of the paladin mod, minus the laser. I really like the laser.

Thankfully, the new character skins they gave to the other survivors are good, unfortunately, they forgot to add any extra skills. Y'know, something FAR MORE important than skins, Gearbox really did just use all their budget on art here. Not to mention the fact that the new characters only have a single alt skill. While still better than the void fiend, you could really add some great other skills to the new characters. And they just decided not to.

The worst part (other than the bugs forced on literally everyone) is the items, 90% of them are just scrap. Out of all the new items, there's only one good one, and it's blatantly overpowered. Everything else is just boring, or useless. The lunar item is the worst offender, the stacks of free purchases dont even carry over between stages, it only exists to ruin your run when you dont know what it is.

Hell, other than the new boss (who really isn't that hard), they only added three enemies, and all three are annoying! Not to mention the new "Guided" elite who both steals your money, and is horribly tanky. 80% of this DLC feels rushed and unfinished.

God, I swear, Gearbox taints everything it touches nowadays. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell. Just hope it gets ironed out HEAVILY, and I pray for alt skills.

it's weird to think that this game more or less spawned a whole genre, even if the general gameplay loop already existed. while those other games are good and have nice, unique mechanics, this is just such a good baseline for the "broken build simulator" games, as i've seen it been called. and it doesn't even kill your wallet either, which is great.
