Best tactical RPG I've played since Dragon Age: Origins. 50 hours in and am eager to pour more time into it. Excellent all around and highly recommended for those who enjoy a more 'traditional' rpg experience. Fair warning, the beginning can come off a bit strong until you get a feel for the mechanics and realize battling too far beyond your level will end poorly, especially early game.

Fantastic game with lots of replay value. Expansions are great though I'd steer clear of the Alien Hunters DLC personally. It breaks the rules of Xcom and ruins Iron Man runs. You can simply ignore the start mission to avoid having it function in game while having access to the unique weapons though.

While not my favorite story in a FC game, this one is tops in my book for the world they built. Great gunplay and just a fun time overall.

My few complaints are that I wish hunting was more meaningful. The old crafting systems were great and gave more of a sense of purpose. The introduction of fishing suffers from the same.

Overall, it is a great time to be had. Its not doing much to break the mold, but that is not a bad thing.

This game is challenging, rewarding and suprisingly deep. Just as you learn the first faction and get a handle of things, you learn that each requires a new approach and tactics. It can be a real head scratcher, and the 8x8 format keeps it in check. I highly recommend it for fans of turn based games. For old fans of games like Advance Wars, its a gem.

When the servers work, the game is great. Large world, lots of replayability on individual missions, great playground with innumerous options. However, server instability and the locking out of game content when not online is unforgivable. Separate saves when offline, no access to unlocked weapons and content, no autosave when the server disconnects... It is unbelievable how disruptive the online only mechanic is in this game. This is a single player game and should be fully playable offline and online. If they wanted to limit posting to leaderboards for offline runs, fine. But don't lock out content.

Great top down tactics. I prefer the ultimate micro options in frozen synapse, but this is proving to be very fun.

Maybe I just don't get it, but playing an hour and a half with a buddy and it just fell flat. Shooting felt poor, drills breaking is a strange gameplay mechanic, AI seemed quite lacking. Many seem to enjoy this one which makes me wonder what I was doing wrong or what I was missing.

Gunplay and fighting mechanics were a major turnoff. The speed drills on the firing range are the perfect example of this.

The campaign was really lacking. The end misssion was what the whole of the campaign should have been (or at least much more of it).

Online is hit and miss, even with friends. Again, the handling mechanics hold this one back, but that's Arma I suppose.

Great strategy game. Wish there were more like it. Tough not to cheat by reloading a save. Incredibly satisfying to perfect a level.
