It's kind of like a time management game, always rushing around. So much to do, until more people are hired.
The most boring part, for me, is the motel rooms. It's not just throw some furniture in and it's good to go, you need to paint the walls, place flooring, lights, just so many little things on the checklist.
But, there's rarely time as someone, or 4 someones, all turn up for fuel, the shop, need a room, then you need to order more stuff. It never ends.

Once more people are hired to take care of the other areas it starts to become easier and you just concentrate on decorating rooms and doing other motel things.

The most trouble I've had has been with the warehouse workers. Sometimes they just stop working - no unloading the truck or stacking the warehouse, let alone stocking the shop. I'm not stacking shelves so I just throw the boxes through the door and it's a big mess but whatever, I already have a thousand other things to do, lol.

Once your ratings get better there can often be traffic jams on the road and gridlock not long after. There's a button on the roadside to fix it all, though. I wish we had those in real life.

Check in and check out are at different times, cars come in waves and not all at once. I can close the shop to restock and renovate, and night time is quieter, especially with shoplifters turned off.

But I find it fun, even when it gets super busy. and overwhelming. I play other simulator (and similar) games so am used to the fast pace once everything is up and running properly.

Survival, Base Building, Simulation, 3 of my favourite things in a game.

I've played similar games that dump a couple of randos together and it's all about them and their petty issues with each other. This one doesn't totally focus only on that which is good.

I love The Sims (except #4) and it has that feel but they are smarter and not as quirky. I don't have to turn off their free will, lol, and micro manage them. It's fun but tedious with more than 1 person.

The base building isn't too bad. 12 hours in and I'm still using the shelters but put together to make lots of rooms.
One day I'll build houses for them, but maybe next game as I'm trying out each biome and seeing which settings I like the most.

Having a lot fun with it all so far.

Almost exactly what I was looking for in a space game. Easy to control ships, visit any planet, interact with the locals, build a base wherever you want.
My only wish that remains is diverse planets, with cities occupied by humans or aliens or both.
As it is now every planet is pretty much the same. A desolate wasteland with some odd looking critters. I play on easy so all critters are friendly. Still, there are a couple that are frightening and have me keeping my ship within arms reach.
Mega structures creep me out, as do the 2 huge exocrafts. Unfortunately one of them is part of a mission I've bumbled into and I can't wait for it to be over, lol.

Despite the game not ticking all my boxes I'm having a lot of fun with it. I first tried it out on GamePass for PC. It seemed like some things were missing, as if it was just an extended demo version, so I bought it here. No, nothing was missing, but I'm glad I bought it :-)

I've had this for quite a while. now. Not as long as some but it was in EA when I picked it up. Before Gosenberg was added.

I'm not sure what made me want this game. Maybe because it reminded me of Mount & Blade Warband, and several other games with how the battles take place. It looked like fun, anyway.
Some days I'd play all day, or all night. There was always something to do, places to explore, people to talk to, or just idle at the campsite re-arranging furniture and wondering how I'm going to fit all these people plus 5 bears and 3 wolves.
Just before release we got the update with more camp stuff. Oh cool. Oh wait...I don't have room! Well, good thing there's that one trading post in Gosenberg, that I went to once and then forgot about. Where's Gosenberg again? lol
Let's just start a new game, just for the moment, to try out this new stuff. And so my restartitis popped up again which I thought I left behind in Skyrim.

It's my favourite game, has been for months. There are a few things that came out of nowhere on release that I don't like, though:
- Day/night cycle seems faster than remember. I'm sure they sped that up.
- Voices in dialogue. I can read faster than they speak. Good thing there's a slider for that. Off it goes.
- Tactical Order - Where did that go? Smokescreen does the same, but it also has a new extra effect, knockback and disengage. I'm not a fan of the extras.

On the plus side, though, I thought it a nice touch that we can now bury any fallen companions. They gather and hold a brief memorial around the grave, too. I haven't been back to check if the graves are persistant. I hope they are.

The last update or two before release introduced some lag. Usually just before a killshot. Now it's all the time. Annoying when trying to catch fish or forge armor/weapons. I'm sure it'll be fixed at some point.

200 hours. 10 of those were yesterday and another 5 or so today. Still so much to do. Another new land, new additions to existing lands, more secrets to find, tombs to explore and prisoners to sell. There's always something to do.

Pro's: Fun game, like Banished but better.
Cons: Too much hand holding added with each major update.

It took me a little while to get into it as, at first try, it seemed like a clunky version of Banished and I got annoyed with it. Such as, 'why aren't Statistics, Employment building and Immigration all amalgamated into the Town Hall, like in Banished? Where am I going to put all these extras? I can't expand I'm out of money again. I don't know what I'm doing.'
But, I came back to it a bit later and am more invested in it, now. It is very much like Banished, but it has more things, more indepth with what you can do with most of the buildings. Upgrading them, upgrading houses, slots for cards that reduce upkeep costs, enhance production. Also raiding other cities and conquering minor ones, too. In that way it's a little like Civilization (IMO 5 as it is my favourite!).
Just noticed it's still in EA. I never would've guessed. I've had no problems, no bugs, no weirdness. Its been playing perfectly.

Banished & Civ 5 together in a game, yes that's my kind of thing. I'm glad I didn't refund it and stuck with it as it's quite a lot of fun now :-)

Edit (Feb 2024):
Love the new Aztec addition, and Japan before that. I'm not really a fan of the extra details, now, though, that came with the Aztecs.

If my fishing hut is too far from town centre a message box pops up and gives me a free Storage Shed card. How about you let me do my own thing and pop down a couple of storage spaces as I usually do. I don't like those sheds, anyway. How about a Warehouse card? I'll take that, seeing as it's far ahead into the tech tree :-)

The added text over work spaces declaring No Workers Available is annoying, too. I know there are no workers for the Fruit Hut, it's Winter. Those workers are now being labourers in other parts of the village. All this extra text and pop ups and "oh noes, you can't do that," feels too hand-holding and not letting me play how I prefer. I even turned off tutorials way back, but they're creeping back in.

Still, looking forward to seeing what other factions get added. I'm always up for new additions.
I still can't believe it's still in Early Access. Feels like a complete game with added freebies now and then. Still love it, though, despite my gripes :-)

*Update Edit (May 2024):

UI Update: Ugh, each new major update dumbs the game down even further. Now it's telling me what to build. No! I said no to tutorials yet they keep popping up each time I put down a building. WTF? If it ain't broke, you know. It was tolerable before. Please stop tinkering with things that work just fine already :-(

I've had the game for a few weeks on my android tablet, but now also play on PC.

For me, the game is quite fun and entertaining. It reminds me of the old flash game I liked to play, back in the day, Swords & Potions 2 (on Kongregate), but all jazzed up with more features.

My only gripe is I'd like the ability to upgrade multiple objects in my shop, instead of one at a time.

I just play when I feel like it, there's no rush, no endgame. Just another way to pass the time.

I've had no game-breaking issues on either device.

IMO a nice and fun game :-)

I never bought the first one, I'd planned to but I forgot about it, then the second came out. I had it on my wishlist for ages. I finally bought it during a sale.

I only started playing last week. I've had a few long sessions as it has been quite a lot of fun. I walked around a fair bit as I assumed the driving would be like Saints Row - terrible without a controller. But, amazingly it's fine. Some corners are finicky but the AI isn't perfect at driving, either. I'm still getting the hang of multitasking while driving without crashing. Every car is different. I find the older cars much easier to control.
There's so much to do. Side quests and mucking around. The gadgets are fun, and being able to take control of a lot of things throughout the cities. I haven't played a game like that before.

About the only issue I have is lag when I open up multiplayer. I've had a few CTD's possibly due to too much going on. It's good that I have the option to turn all that off and play single, then if I come across a multiplayer mission I can just activate it in the world. But, I mostly ignore that part as I don't care for multiplayer.

I play on Medium settings. It auto-selected Ultra, possibly due to my video card (MSI RX 480 8GB), but it stuttered around too much. My CPU is a bottleneck in my system (i5 4590). The world still looks good, though, IMO. No stuttering, now, even while driving at high speed and during gang shoot outs with numerous NPC's. I might further tweak the settings but I'm not too fussed.

Overall I'm finding it to be a lot of fun. An excellent addition to my library.

Not a bad game, actually. Steam reckoned it was similar to Atomic Society and something else, but, to me it's similarish to Zafehouse Diaries but without all the bickering and stupidity every minute.
The combat is different than anything else I've experienced before. More card-based, I guess. As I got further into the game I got the hang of it. It's intentional that you fail in the beginning, nothing to rage-quit over, IMO.

I got this game at 85% off, bargain. But, I'd have paid full price if I'd had the money at the time. For me it has been well worth the full price and I haven't even finished the game yet, though am probably not far off. My current hours (7.7hrs) were all in one sitting :-)
I'll be doing another playthrough later, at a higher difficulty and making different choices, just to see how that goes.

I've had no problems during my time playing, got the hang of it pretty quickly. I quite like it and am happy to have found it.

I play similar games and, after reading about it it sounded interesting, and something different. Another take on the post-apoc theme. I had it wishlishted here for a long while. I eventually bought and played the pre-Alpha as I saw others playing it and wanted to as well. So, I have more hours in the pre-Alpha than what's listed since its official release here.
Usually I pass on meh graphics and top-down view (preferring first and/or third person games) but this one was different so none of that even mattered to me. A lot has changed since I first played it. I never had issues to really worry about. Any other issues people had were fixed pretty fast.
Building my own everything, being the leader of random people who keep flocking to my ramshackle town in the middle of nowhere. It sounded like fun. The ability to filter out/exile those hundreds upon hundreds of never-ending people is a welcome addition, although there could be another option rather than religion.
My only ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is Raiders. I wish for something more to do with them. Once your population is high and your settlement highly protected, they're just a pest. An annoying pop up every couple of days. Wiping them out permanently would be good. Or toggle them off entirely. Many possibilities.
Still, the Devs are active and listen and fix things that go wrong. I hear there are more planned things coming so, you never know.
I haven't tried all the maps yet, so I'll happily do that while waiting to see what else they come up with :-)

I'm glad I came back to check what's new. Good to see new stuff, new DLC.
The game was fun already, but got a little boring, I guess. With this new DLC I reinstalled and am having even more fun with it than before.

The new events, even though I've only encountered the one so far (Festival), are a great addition. It really makes things more difficult, especially early on when you don't have many funds, let alone teams.
Reinforcements are a welcome addition, especially during Festivals, or just those days when everyone's busy and you desperately need something right this very minute.

The only ♥♥♥♥♥♥ I have is the inability to multi-task. If I'm on a call I can't see the details of other events on the map, that pop up afterwards, until the call is finished. If the event pops before I answer the call then I can send units out, but not during a call. So, unless it's a Festival (where it's not toggleable) I just toggle off answering calls altogether.

Calls can get repetitive, there's not many voicetypes overall. A female Operator would be good as an option, though. There's both male and female unit voices, as well as callers, of course. Often the voice coming from a unit doesn't match the occupants of that vehicle, but oh well.

But, overall it's still quite a fun game. Often fast-paced (if answering calls is switched on) but the game can be sped up or slowed down, even paused while you send out units, if you get too overwhelmed.

Apart from my one little gripe, I quite like it, and am happy there's extra content to further extend the life of the game for me :-)
