Maybe I'm too dumb but I never understood how to do combat properly. I would always do much much worse than autoresolve outcomes, and the overworld portion isn't fun enough to justify only doing autoresolves.

More people should play this game, imagine playing an FPS in 2024 and actually enjoying yourself. Stop reading reviews and just give it a try yourself, it's free!

If you do get started, here's a couple things that you might find useful:
1. The loadout is divided into your specialization, weapon, gadgets, and reserve. You can only bring one specialization and weapon at a time, but up to three gadgets. The reserve allows you to change items in your main loadout after you die. YOU CANNOT TAKE EVERYTHING IN, except in certain game modes. So if you have a sledgehammer as your main weapon, and a flamethrower as a reserve weapon, you won't have the ability to switch to a longer-range gun if you feel like it during the match. So be mindful of what you put in your reserve.
2. You can PICK UP your downed teammates and run away with them to revive them in a safer spot. You don't have to do it where they died.
3. Some game modes have limited respawns. That means if you respawn, rather than wait to get revived, you use one token. Once you use all tokens, you can't choose to respawn anymore. If your entire team gets wiped, no one uses a credit. It's only for when you choose to individually respawn yourself.

Have fun!

Currently my favourite fighting game. Very accessible for newcomers to the genre, not just because of simple inputs, but because the mechanics aren't too overwhelming. The previous version was even simpler but they had seen that without at least some offensive mechanics it wouldn't keep people's interest as long. Updated rollback netcode and new moves for all the characters, plus all the new characters added at release, make this the far superior version.

It was ok.

It was never scary, since there's no danger except for a couple parts where the danger is easily avoidable. So the stakes never felt particularly high, contrary to what the plot was about.

That being said, I did enjoy it overall. It took me exactly as long as the time posted in my review, just under 5 hours. So if you see it at a price where it makes sense to get 5 hours of enjoyment then I'd recommend it, but it's not something that every Lovecraft fan must own.

Spend $1200 bounty bucks only to get 1 shot by a $24 pistol from 58 metres within 5 minutes.

1200/24 stars.

A great, wholesome experience.

It never really does anything too interesting mechanically (you have the ability to sing in sharps or flats, but it never comes up). But it doesn't have to be complicated. It's a story about friendship, meaning, and destiny, and about being yourself.

The story is also simplistic, like the mechanics, but that doesn't make it any less charming. The music and art style also really add to the charm. It's not very long, but that means Wandersong doesn't overstay its welcome.

If you want to spend a weekend just feelin' good about yourself, then this is definitely a game you should buy.

I love this game.

Gameplay is great.

Looks great.

I always want to rematch just so I can keep fighting.

BUT this game STILL is broken as HELL on PC. I can't play online because I keep desynching or crashing when player 1 wins.

How is this still happening months after launch?

It's such a shame too because this game feels great to play, but I simply can't recommend anyone buys it until they fix online. This is completely ridiculous!

It's not the hardest fighting game in the world.

It's the hardest fighting game in the universe.

200 hours and I'm still trash-tier.

10/10

As a non-European, non-South American, soccer is the most painful sport for me to watch. I don't understand it at all. I don't understand why billions love it. I don't understand why FIFA sells so well every year. I don't understand the World Cup, or the soccer hooligans, or why the timer counts up to 90 and doesn't pause when the ref blows his whistle.

But I can understand why people love Rocket League.

The devs took a deceptively simple idea and turned it into one of the best multiplayer games of all time. The short, 5 minute matches are always action packed and it never feels like it drags on too long, unless both teams are awful and go 8 minutes into overtime failing to score on each other.

Not only is the physics based car rocket soccer Kerbal Space Program flying demolition derby Dukes of Hazard Spiderman Messi simulator gameplay deep and compelling, but the devs have put more love and support into this game than most devs do with their families. The level of free support is almost unheard of - I say almost because I can't think of any other examples off the top of my head, but I don't want to have someone say "Well, actually..."

I've never had more fun playing a video game with my friends than I have had when playing Rocket League. It's a masterpiece of modern gaming and the gold standard which other game devs should look to when designing their own games.

This pack is mostly covered in the Channel Battles pack, which also gives you the required planes for the campaigns, but also the English Channel map, for only slightly more money. Alternatively, you can buy the planes directly from the Rise of Flight store (unless you've already made a purchase on Steam, like me).

Buy Channel Battles or stay away from the Steam version entirely.
