Skin grade is random. You have a certain percentage chance of getting any given grade. Field tested seems to be the most common. When a skin is made, the maker makes what it would look like factory new with no imperfections. They also choose how the skin was 'made'. Some 'techniques' such as spray painting are more likely to show ware where as others are less likely to show wear, such as andonized paint.
