Right, so, Dark Souls. If you should buy this game, then you must already know what you're in for. Absolute suffering.

In all honesty, it is a truly fantastic game, but one that is so painfully difficult, that it makes you want to jump off a cliff, or hang yourself from a tree, or something like that.

The story? It's Dark Souls. You shouldn't be expecting to get a story, or at least not one that you can understand anyway. If there is one, then I'm sure it's great. If you really want to know the story, I suggest you go watch some VaatiVidya videos.

Now the combat mechanics of this game are better than they ever have been, though that is not to say that it is by any means easy, as it still makes you want to punch a hole in your monitor. And don't even think about saying that the multiplayer mechanics are good. They are "better", but it's still laggy as all hell, and so far, I haven't seen anybody use anything other than R1s, and maybe the occasional L2, but only if they're dual wielding. Also, this game allows you to dual wield like never before, and you can have some of the most ridiculous combinations and it will still be viable. For example, I used to pair the Claymore with the Uchigatana for much of the early game, and much to my surprise it actually worked.

As for figuring out where to go, good luck. Because as soon as you get to the Undead Settlement, all hope is already lost. For example I accidentaly went to Farron Keep and was almost about to square off with the Abyss Watchers, when I found out that that was not what I was supposed to do, so I had to reroute all the way around, just to figure out where the hell the Cathedral Of The Deep was. It's painful.

Now I also hear a lot of people complain about there being too many bonfires. Nonsense. There aren't ENOUGH bonfires. Especially in the Cathedral Of The Deep, where if you die, you literally have to spend half an hour dodging a giant and getting past painstakingly hard enemies, just to get back to where you were, and then go to fight the Deacons of the Deep, and they don't even let you refill your estus. I hate the Cathedral Of The Deep.

Now the leveling system is exactly is you would expect in a Dark Souls game. And for once, I actually like the fact that it is so f****** frustrating to get the souls you need to level up. I kinda like the setback honestly. It gives you a massive feeling of just pure hopelessness, when you spend two hours farming 30.000 souls, and then lose all of it because you ran out of estus and there wasn't a bonfire nearby. The reason as to why that's so specific is because it's exactly what happened to me the other day. So when you finally do get the levels you want, it's the most satisfying feeling in the world. But there is one tiny problem:
WHERE IS POISE?? (nvm fixed)

Now it's kind of the same deal with the bosses themselves. Ohh the bread and butter of the entire game. And I think they absolutely nailed the them. Some of them are creepy, some are mysterious, some have conveluted backstories, some are intriguing, and some are just straight up disgusting. And all of them are great to fight. Except for the Curse-Rotted Greatwood, that f****** tree can go f*** itself in the a**. But when I say "great to fight", I don't mean that their fights are fun or easy, by any means at all. I mean that they are f****** hard, and when you beat them, the relief just washes over you, like a 500kg weight was just taken off your chest. And the fights themselves, are hard, yes, but they're not "frustrating" in the way that you feel the fights aren't fair and that it just can't be done, but rather with each attempt you get closer and closer to taking down your target, and when you finally do it, it's the greatest sensation in the world.

So, should you buy Dark Souls III? If you like TP-RPG style games, and you like being f***** rough and square in the a**, then this game is for you, if not, then man up you ♥♥♥♥♥ and git gud.

I rate thee 10/10

This game is by a longshot the greatest indie-game that I've played, to date. Although it is a little bit short, I would still recommend it greatly, as it is entirely worth the price and more for that matter.
