Solid enough to get your fix of being a hulking giant shooting preposterously sized rounds at incomprehensible enemies. The story is your usual bad guys but oh no actually heresy. Keeps you interested to get through it, but don't expect something jaw dropping.

It's definitely a very pretty game. I found myself using photo mode a bunch of times. And my absolute favorite Imperial Guardsmen were everywhere. I appreciated the fact that your AI allies weren't just useless background pieces. They actually did damage and kill enemies, making your life a little easier. Even though they were very squishy and easily killed, I tried my best to keep as many of them alive as possible. From a lore perspective, guardsmen dying by swarms is true to life so it wasn't jarring that you started with 20 of them and ended up with 0 of them after a tyranid attack.

I do wish there would've been a little more diversity in the gameplay mechanics for the campaign. Doing the same thing of kill enemies to get to elevator, wait for teammates to get on elevator to press button rinse and repeat through all the chapters got a little tedious. I was really hoping that maybe we get to control a dreadnought (especially towards the end of the game would've been a perfect spot for it), drive a Leman Russ or maybe provide air support for the Cadians or something. Anything.

Maybe I'm a slow learner or just dumb, but I never really fully grasped the gameplay mechanics. Blocks didn't seem to register at times, way too little time to react to the red circles, not being able to defend myself against more than 2 enemies at a time, wanting to swing muh big hammer around but I kept losing all of my health because of the swarm of little baddies taking it all away - all of these things made the gameplay a little tedious by the final chapter. Just lemme swing the hammer and squish little fragile enemies.

I tried multiplayer but it wasn't fun for me. I've always been drawn to assault where you rain death from the sky. Excelling at cutting down bad guys if you managed to land close to them because you'd have your chainsaw on top of them already. But instead you get sniped out of the sky the moment you take off and when you land, everyone's backed away from you and is firing at you, leaving your melee prowess completely useless. The reaction makes sense, but it isn't fun for me, the brick trying to punch a hole in the ground.

I'm really hopeful they'll maybe release more single player content, but it doesn't seem that way which makes me big sad. Unlike the first Space Marine game, I don't actually foresee myself replaying this, but I'd still suggest anyone who wants their 40k fix to give this a go.

It's just an all around excellent game. Satisfying gameplay, a gripping narrative and your actions actually having an impact (side quests). The ending, as is the case for a lot of games, felt very rushed. It seems like some of the time they spent mid-game could've been spent more end-game, but it all paid off in the end.

I really like the protagonist. She's not a girl boss who's just here to slay the women haters and destroy sexism. She's actually a very thought out character with genuine, canon, reasons to be as capable as she is. I had very few moments where I felt like something was shoe horned in for the sake of diversity or whatever. Everything felt very natural.

The story was structured in a way to get you to keep going forward to find out what's going on which I found very alluring. You always think, "1 more mission and I'll finally find out why xyz." And the main character shares your sentiment so it feels like you're on this journey with her. The ending was meant to be more emotional than sensical, I found. It's very abrupt, but it obviously sets up the sequel.

I found some of the gameplay mechanics to be a little repetitive. A lot, A LOT, of the side quests just relied on you to go to point A, find tracks, press G, follow tracks, end quest. Or, follow tracks, interact with 3 items, follow more tracks, end quest. It didn't really have much more flavor than this. But on the odd occasion your reward was to yell at someone being an idiot. As for collectibles, I went for all of them. It was a lot of Skyriming around mountain sides because I couldn't figure out where the actual start point was to get higher up. It worked for me, but a lot of time was spent wandering around looking for stuff that blends into the environment. It's not bad or good, but it did wear me out towards the end of the game.

I'd recommend this to anyone who's a fan of open world RPGs and a good story.

Now that I've actually completed a playthrough, there is no reason not to play Baldur's Gate 3. Unless you hate stories and/or D&D. In which case you're wrong, anyway.

I've played through this like 3-4 times on the Playstation. It's just a great cinematic experience with so many possibilities.

2 years later and its now actually really good. I was skeptical, but after trying the free weekend I now bought the game. I don't know why EA has a masochism fetish for messing up launches but it looks like they fixed what they got wrong and it's a super solid game now.

I can't recommend it until I can actually play it. The game's been out since February and the performance issues are still unbearable. Constant frame drops make it so jarring I can't focus on the story.

I can play it, albeit frequently with only 30 FPS. Just hopping on the performance issues band wagon. Shame on whoever was responsible for this messy launch. And the gall to want 70 bucks for it, too?

I've been playing this on and off since 2011. I've got thousands of hours cause the Steam version is a new addition. If you like MMOs and you like Star Wars, this is the game for you. It's super easy to get into and there's tons of solo content. Achievement hunters will also have a blast with this game.
