So I can see why having long travel times and traps capable of 1-shotting you strewn randomly about the wilderness could be acceptable in a game with a quicksave feature (a la Stalker). In an MMO that dumps most of your inventory and resets you to half a map away from your deathpoint, however, traps randomly thrown about that 1 shot you for daring to make the travel time less lengthy and tedious are remarkably less acceptable.
Sorry, devs. That's horrific game design. I cannot recommend a game like this.

The game has improved vastly since release, actually having content worth playing and replaying. There's a nice collector's aspect to everything, too.

The classic is here, and it's far easier to get into than ever before. Controls are more intuitive, imagery is easy to discern, alerts are easier to sort through (though a tad bugged at this very second) and information on units and such is collated in a much more user-friendly fashion. I've never wanted to play this more in my entire life.

Make sure you play this with friends. Otherwise it's just like trudging alone through a 4chan anti-furry thread.

Only complaints are the statbirds and food mechanic aesthetics.
Statbirds start to feel boring after you've explored the maps enough. Really slows down end-game.
Food mechanics always had this huge, amazing feasts that your character would eat before hunts, but this time it's the equivalent of an afternoon snack. Don't get me wrong, they look delicious, but there's something a little hollow about your hunter surviving on snack food (albeit snack food on the higher end of the quality scale).
These are relatively minor complaints, though. Especially the food aesthetics.
Recommended because Rise has the best movement tech in the franchise to date, has customizable attacks and has an unbelievable amount of QOL upgrades. Really good entry level MH, and the expansion bumps the difficulty to satisfy us veterans.

You never knew you needed this. That's ok, you can get it now and fix that.

Simplicity at its best. If you like drafting/deckbuilding games, this is a super simple take on it, but it's unbelievably addictive and fun. Give it a go!
2023 Review Review: Still very much a neat little drafting deckbuilder. Ultra simple, very fun.

Neat little action-oriented game formatted like the Oregon Trail. If you want something a bit more authentic to the source material, Organ(sic) Trail exists too, but if you prefer a bit more action like I do, this is perfect.

This game's become a timeless classic for RPG grinders such as myself. Every expedition improves your game state in some way. It's awesome.
