Quite possibly the most cathartic VR experience yet. Block, dash, weave and smite your foes like the mildly stoppable force you are. The primary and secondary game play loops are perfectly paced, if slightly repetitive.

I would like the game to have a progressive story and varied environments. I would like to feel as if I'm on a journey, rather than the boss or the next room.
The workout level for a big bloke like myself is probably 6/10
I would rate Until you Fall a solid 8/10, I'm very eager to see what version 1.0 looks like

If you were a big fan of the 2000's era expensive arcade machines at the local cinema, the ones with unique mechanics that created a 'just one more coin' compulsion, this game is for you, you WILL keep coming back. And yes, it gets much harder, think "Everything is terrible!" from the Binding of Isaac.

This game is a necessary framework for what is to come (Bonelab). The physics and locomotion are groundbreaking, but the gameplay, variety, pacing, and story are not.
The game self-satirises this with neon wall scrawlings of "What if this is just a tech demo?" in various locations across several levels, which greatly misses the mark, and only serves to devalue the player experience.
The physics sometimes freaks out, causing the player (and whatever you are holding or standing upon) to get completely YEETED in a random direction, not unlike a collision in Blendr that cant resolve.

Great tech demo, empty levels, vapid gameplay.

Would be a better game if parrying worked reliably, the pause between an attack alert and the actual attack is unreliable, inflating the sense of difficulty in an otherwise good reaction-time based bullet hell slasher

Amazing idea, great implementation of an audio/visual mechanic. But the puzzles aren't great. the game immediately establishes that keys open doors, and puzzles will be some other object-based contraption. I then proceeded to find a key that didn't open any doors. I'm not sure if it was a bug or there was some other unintuitive place to put the key, but there's some bad design there.

Project Warlock is simply a welcome reprieve from the tired AAA First Person Shooter formula that gets stuffed down our throats year after year. A fresh take on the classic, revered formula of days long past, without being derivative. This game has lite-rpg mechanics, allowing spellcasting, weapon augmentation, and a lightweight stat/perk system.
That being said, level structure is linearly progressive, taking a unique approach to the usefulness of "lives", and similarly how you save your progress.
Whilst employing rpg mechanics, the gameplay remains focused around intense, fast-paced shooting and target prioritisation.
There are bosses
There are secrets
Occasionally overwhelming numbers of mobs
Satisfying music
9.5/10

A faithful reboot. Xen is gorgeous but the platforming can sucks ass. Long Jump not behaving consistently ruined the experience for me. Quit mid way through Xen and not going back. Sad face.

Its far from perfect. Platforming isn't as slick as the originals. None of the vehicle levels in crash 3 feel right. Definitely one to buy on special, play for 1 hour, and never touch again.

The game would be okay if you were into weird pokemon/furry stuff, or have a group of desperate SuperSmash players with no console with which to SuperSmash upon.

Its just not worth $15 for 8 characters, and another $15 for another 6 (at the time of writing this review).

Ive played free fan tribute games with more love and care poured into them. The first few levels feel fresh and new, like youre *really* paying a new sonic game. But the facade quickly falls away the further you delve into the games content.

By Zone 3 you realize that the game is just mish-mashed garbage

"what if boss X from Sonic 2 and boss Y from Sonic 3 had a bastard child? WAIT, NO, lets base the entire level design.... NO, THE ENTIRE GAME on this!"

Yesterday, I was a Sonic fan. I even replayed Sonic 3 & Knuckles yesterday in anticipation for the release of Sonic Mania.

Today I realized Sonic has been dead this whole time, but the cadaver expelled some gases and the devs named it "Sonic Mania", which ironically, will be the name of the mental illness the remaining Sonic fans will be diagnosed with, because they obviously need serious help.
