Having started in SHB and played, for way too many hours, while going through the chapter conclusion and epic scaled story of EW I can say that for me DT is a much needed breath. The generally more lighthearted story with a focus on exploration I felt well timed to stop the game falling into the creep of new big doom, that's more doom then ever before, and constantly jumping the shark as other games have done.

The dungeons, trials and duties have been combat wise engaging, visually very appealing and had fun little story beat moments that weren't forced cutscenes peppered in. I have enjoyed the story and the characters though they don't seem to be to everyones tastes which might be in part of the more whimsical nature of some elements. Tuliyollal is probably the best city in the game it is visually stunning, feels alive, has amazing music, jumping puzzles (though not has challenging as Kugane Tower) and is easy to navigate.

I also appreciated the built in story break points which gives jump off times to go explore, craft, fish, sightseeing, quest, etc without narrative dissonance.

Overall I have had a lot of fun and enjoyment from this expansion.

Though I would not recommend this game to I have enjoyed it when playing with friends and we don't run into other people. As frankly every ship you see on the horizon nearly certainly is captained by an arsehole.

The problem with PVP in this game is that it is so unbalanced in favour to loot stealers and griefers who risk nothing fighting players that have spent time on PVE encounters and missions. There is no point in bothering with PVE content you may as well just PVP its much faster and basically risk free.

An exploration and survival game set in the oceans of an alien world.

Like most survival games you have a build mechanic and the ability to create a base from which to gather materials and food to last another day, in Subnautica's case this is by using futuristic gadgets that does a nice in game explanation of how you are able to so quickly build rooms or submarines. At first you'll spend most of your time scavenging for ores and blueprints which slowly allows you to expand the depths you can visit.

However unlike most survival games Subnautica does one thing does very well that is create a truly unnerving atmosphere. It manages to avoid the traps of jump scares (aside from the sudden beastie that appears when you leave the substantial game area) and other low hanging fear fruit for a subtle but continuous dread. You know you are alone and vulnerable particularly when you can hear the rumbles of huge monsters drawing closer and closer.

For the theme and atmosphere alone I would recommend this game but that is not to say it doesn't have solid mechanics, reasonable resource usage on building, good music, a fresh style and a complete-able story if your not just interested in sandbox survival.

I throughly enjoyed playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance in particularly the take on not being a hero able to take a spiked mace to the face and just shake it off. You are a commoner without fancy sword-fighting skills or even the ability to read you have to skill these up yourself.

The other part of the name I loved was how detailed even seemingly minor quests can be and how they can affect your story, every players story will be different which is awesome in my book. Not to mention that the story location and time as far as I am aware is not featured in other games giving the game a fresh enviroment/aspects to explore.

Edit (10/11/18): Well blow me down they actually fixed the FPS issue, I've suddenly jumped from 12 FPS during sieges to 80 - 90. There are still a few other bugs but these are minor e.g. the level up sound looping until you put enough distance between yourself and the spot you leveled.

Also since they removed the market the nemsis system is much improved, I actually knew majority of the orcs that showed up in the final the battle and the necromancer story lines. This is one of the highlights to the game, each story is different you will have a different experience then me or anyone else depending on what orcs you meet and how you interact with them.

I have now changed by review to recommending the game.

Edit (12/07/18): After speaking with the support team for over a month, generally they reply once a week, it seems they have no idea why some people are getting low FPS but are adament it is not the game.. they also said shadow of war came out before windows 10 and tried to use that as an excuse until I corrected them.

At this point I have little to no hope they will ever fix the issues.

Original Post: I wanted to love this game it ticks many boxes for me the combat, exploration, world setting and army building are detailed and well done. However I cannot recommend this game due to how buggy it is:
- Even with a high spec system you can end up with between 20 - 30 FPS no matter what settings or resolution you use
- There is a very noticable lag in control input
- Falling through the world is surprisingly common
- Game ending bugs seem to be frustratingly abundent

The last issue for me is the worst offender considering how many hours you are expected to pour into this game to get the experience you paid for, and it seems every step could be leading you to have to reset and lose everything. I would wait to see if Monolith fix these issues otherwise it is not worth the price even in sale.

Simply a peaceful game at a relaxed pace that is fantatic at helping you unwind from the constant stresses of day to day life. With appealing visuals that with their style I think will stand the test of time more so then the AAA highly rendered graphics, pleasent soundtrack and varied gameplay gives you plently form a small indie title made by one person.

One of my favourite games with over a 100 hours in it, very tough making it quite the challenge whichs goes very well with the HP Lovecraft theme much of which is showcased with great narration and beautifully horrfic art. A good and varied roster of hero classes and monsters to fight making thinking ahead, trying out different combos and perperation all important.

Since modding has come into the game its been pretty interesting trying out new dungeons and classes, I would highly recommend this game for the more hardcore players out there.

I don't know what just happen, I just know it was awesome!
Fast gameplay, new powers with combo effects and a enthralling twisting story - overall great game.

Fast paced with a compelling mixture of tower defence and rpg. Great little game to have a laugh with a couple of good mates.
