TLDR: Go play Killing Floor 1 Ultimate Game Servers >>> this. You'll thank me later.

Nooope. Even after all this time, I won't/will not/ever recommend this. Drifts apart from the original and even makes it worse both in monetization and enemies, sluggish and unoptimized. Why am I not surprise it went down the "pay up paywall fortnite route" e.g. that cash shops gets more value than the actual game but patch it up with DLCs consoomer glazers to justify it. Nearly every modern game is basically just this. I am tired of it. Denuvo included for added middle finger points like PC gamers get enough nonsense as it is.

Also don't get it twisted wasn't made by Tripewire, it was made by Harsuit Labs; the bootleg Tripewire hence the why the quality went down. Tripewire only publishes games now they don't make 'em.. congratulations, you fumbled the bag.. and now with Killing Floor 3 with these garbage specialists thing it has going on yeah... even if I have issues with KF1, I'll still play it in protest against KF2 and KF3.

Okay Mr Single developer, it's time for a game review.

Everything from Good to Absolutely Amazing:

I like the premise, it's a different twist from either the heavily inputted Scifi OR the heavily inputted Fantasy. Nothing every seems to be a mix and we need variance in the RTS genre even though 4x/turn based/CRPG has sort of buried this genre, I'll take anything these days to actually change the meta-game. Undead zombies have won minus what seems to be a mixture of survivors/military/para-military that which you can hopefully put together into a cohesive faction.

The Campaign; my analysis of this omg... it reminds me of Supreme Command in-which the unit numbers are insanely high while at the same time, you can coordination attacking places like in Dawn of War AND do more than just defense/attack twice, etc. Don't think I didn't notice this. It's clearly inspired.

Most RTS or game tutorials are either cramfisted in a bad way or just non-existent. Good on you for making a layout that is straight forward so folks have something to do or just enjoy even if it's a teaching lesson! :)

Noticeable Issues/QoL IMO is needed.
Okay my guy I get it, you wanna be independent but after seeing that blog post about how you are doing things by yourself.... naw dude that ain't it, you NEED help so bite the bullet and do a hiring extension, IMO you shouldn't be not after that near disaster of flooding. People don't like to take criticism like its an attack but in reality, IT ISN'T. You need to have other people in place to assist e.g. have back ups of your game engine plus assests/resources/everything from promotion of the game, the list goes on and on. Please consider this dude, with AAA gaming even Indie gaming being put on the chopping block, never know what could happen next. Always have a back up plan within a back up plan.

Just some minor advice.
~~~~~~~
Now about the game issues;
I do not like the fact that there isn't a further zoom out option , it's capped -- can you please increase outward just a bit more. I want to be able to see everything. Doesn't need to be Supreme Commander levels of zoom out but near it -- I'd like to be able to view things even more like I guess Battlefield 4's Commander option.
Additionally, why isn't there an option to mass build like in DoW or even Ground Control for the Sappers? The whole one at the time thing is very irritating and breaks the flow of RTS gaming for me because I keep forgetting that, that is a thing. I'd like to be able to e.g. select 3 sappers together and mass build chemical factories and then make search likes in a row. While there is a que system there isn't anything in the UI --- the UI prompt like in Supreme Command to tell you "hey these sappers are all in queue making something for you", can you please address this? That is both my QoL request and some feedback on the UI, I will continue this down below.
Several technical issues with the move/formation move system e.g. keeping them in a straight line or having them being a tight group. This has broken for some reason on and off where they just don't simply go anywhere or get deliberately stuck even after I move other units out of the way. Both air and ground craft run into this issue. Please fix thank you.
Another problem is the fact that units UI like the artillery for example merges with the UAV scan like they aren't separate things? so I have hold the LMB down to hold for the artillery so it doesn't flow naturally or feel like inputs are off in some kind of degree, can you address this. Give it a try; have arrty vehicles onto of your UI for the UAV -- I can't deselect one or the other it just merges to the two, very annoying.
Unit Grouping: Okay so, there is ONE grievance I got with this, unlike DoW/Ground Control/Supreme Commander and CaC, I should be able to deselect my sappers from the military units and the air units w/o breaking the group entirely -- just separate from the groups I want to use. This is a big problem with Jet/faster aircraft, ESPECIALLY the jets, there should be a separate landing zone for them when they aren't active so they don't use up their fuel. ONLY AFTER they complete a strafing run. Pretty annoying to have them just float around the airfield.Can you address this as well? Thanks! :)
My overall thoughts;
the base is good, the replayability is great, I feel like I'm running a DoW Soulstorm Armageddon mod but isn't going to crash because of well... 2gb limits, the campaign is fun, the units feel like actually World War Z but the army fights back, it has a optional sandbox, hmmm not much for negatives really -- not much on the RTS front outside of Stormgate but that's locked to early access bro content creators.
Good over all. 8.7/10
Yes, I fully recommend this over the stand alone since Bohemia can't be asked to clean it up. Even in post. This version has way more agency and well I like game preservation so in the event this one gets removed cuz of them trash CEO says so to delist it, buy a copy.
No cannot recommend this game post-Lake of Kalandra. You don't pull this management/executive b u l l s h i t and expect backlash not to happen.
You don't play this game; you put ENB mods on it to mock all those CEOs/dev teams with their buzzwords of 4k 60fps ha, Skyrim mods out here doing 8k photos. Closest thing to a almost pron simulator and apparently someone on Skyrim nexus made a multiplayer mod. LOL it's just too bad this version and the other version between the two one is being delisted and the other is not. Typical Triple A nonsense.
I used to be very great at this game, to the point I made a busted BF4 Attack helicopter. Was a very rewarded experience as for the times I played; I had great kills or line of sight destroying. Too bad, Freejam is a very inconsist game team, nerfing somethings and buffing other stuff to make certain set ups way worse. That is the main reason I quit plus the fact that maps aren't as good as others would say. Pre-2016 era Robocraft was peak of the game... and look oh jee what a surprised Robocraft 2; featuring more monetization and even greater F2P restrictions. I doubt that one will be better than the last.
Just because it is F2P doesn't mean it should be Free to not criticize and I rate these F2P games pretty hard based on prior f'ups.
Ah right, back when this was a paid title, rip physical copies of live services going under and they have to compensate by turning into the rest of the F2P garbage that exist. Funcom had the right idea; doing a different MMORPG that has a modernish setting mixed in with fantasy elements. The phone usage, the fun yet engrossing settings of each of the factions i.e. the Illuminati doing under table deals that was what caught my interest -- it was a twist on the MMORPG setting which was saturated with too much copied/pasted fantasy only games.
Certain parts of the story and cutscenes were well done even had puzzle mechanics that rewarded some tid bits of immersion. Sadly due to the poor state of this version and the first version being abandoned, not going to say you should touch this. Despite the good visuals and cut scene material of how the world exists, it isn't good enough to compare with SWTOR's Eternal Empire like stories and side stories. Yah done f'd up Funcom, now you basically have a game with a launcher as well as . exe that is essentially borked now with no way of them fixing it as it stands.
This same gives mixed results, F2P genre is usually more biased with payed things versus earned things then again I used to play MAG regularly before Sony ruined whatever nonsense it was with their 4k 60fps garbage and high fidelity nonsense that result in games being listed from 30 to 50 to 60 and now 70 + whatever MTX and battle passes or live serving loop holes...
Planetside 2 is very old it's in that era of gaming classics since it hasn't been shutdown yet, neither is it getting a third game as much as others would wish.
The real problems? It's simple; there is no effective tutorial on the game to get them started i.e. new gamers wanting to hop in. You cannot miss this for a game that is going on another 10 years now and say that game ain't getting recognition when in reality, it has but in my eyes; the player base has plateaued. Like with Path of Exile, it gains spikes of users/new users/returning users once a new event or patch is up! I just wish this generation of gamers would realize that not every game can be fortnite. Speaking of which, how ironic that there is no tutorial but sure we'll put in that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FortNite clone in but not fix the game's basic user experience... so typical of every F2P game.
Cleaning up the game with a tutorial and teaching them about the shields, the TTK, forms of come back mechanics, the MAX suits and how instant action versus vehicle to squad spawning is important. YouTuber videos don't count as it's outside of the game material. Even back when I was playing the game during it's launcher days like 2014+2015, I knew what was happening but NOT EVERYONE DOES. Sadly this game is in that category of noob stomping central unless you got players or friends that will commit to keep you otherwise you'll likely see them return to whatever is this month's favorite.
Not recommending this until The Farm fixes these "user.change error" and "151 something went wrong" errors that have been persisting since time of installing. 9/30/2022. I'll come back to it ONLY when these are not so consistently all over the place as I spent 1 hour in with the second error, and 40 minutes with the first error.
It isn't optimized at all despite already having the user name registered and on a stable connection in the U.S. West. Seriously? Come on guys, 2.3 hours in and I was only able to get ONE MATCH before the first error started happening back to back and that isn't even good look.
Sure, 9k hours in Champions Online even though that is 8k hours in the costume designer before I dropped the game entirely, not really an argument to use against me as I judge these F2P games day and night more so how mediocre are they versus how really s-h-i-t-t-y the issues truly have continued since playing. At any rate, as much as I clown on F2P and rightfully so; Paladins and even F2P Eve Online is far more stable than this.
No, I'll see ya'll in the continuation of Adam Jensen's story aka Deus Ex 3. You call me petty despite the fact that I have a rig which can run the game in High settings-- still manages to crash to desktop and shutoff my 1st monitor and I have to restart. No manipulation, lies or TV show spin off is going to change that.
I am tired of No Man Sky treatments but hey, that's the Triple A standard.
The fact that, they need a show to justify this game proves it is a failure, plus just because they have changed game engines doesn't actual mean CDPR is somehow astonishingly going to "magically" fix everything. Actually, saying you are moving to Unreal Engine 5 is basically proving nothing just hallow PR talk. And to finally squish the notion, Deus Ex will have a better shot at this than anything coming out of CDPR management or the developers's illusions of commitment and promises ever will.
Sad that this a game I didn't preorder and I have not done so since 2012, tsk tsk tsk.
