If you're looking for something Rimworld-adjacent, this will do the trick. There's no world map or world travel, and the options for building and manufacturing are a bit more limited, but the addition of a Z-dimension (mining down and building up) is greatly appreciated.

Also, there's cannibalism, which is always a laugh.

Q. Why are the cannibals in this game so angry?
A. Because they're fed up with people.

Since launch, I was unable to start a match. All I'd get is time out or server saturation error messages.

Today, I finally managed to start a match. Before I even reached the fourth turn, it disconnected from the server and dumped me out the match.

I can't even play a single match of this game.

Cyanide Studios, I'll put this is politely as I possibly can: This behaviour is utterly disgusting. If you are going to force people to use your live servers to play a match, at least make sure your servers work,

The steam store reports "LAN Co-op", but I could not get this to work. After repeated attempts and reboots, my flatmate and I were unable to join each other's hosted games, with a meaningless "Connection Error" message. Unable to connect through Steam friends, and no "Join by IP address" option.

Every other game we play together just works, but this one doesn't.

If you want to play this game, bear in mind that playing with friends on your LAN might not work.

I had to refund this because I'm not playing thirty-something Aussie dollars for a multiplayer game with broken multiplayer.

An enjoyable sequel to Monster Prom, with a few improved features, but the same basic gameplay loop.

More enjoyable with a friend (in the same room or with VoIP).

An absolutely adorable, fantastically fun, and hilariously humorous game, played with a friend.

Work together and against each other to build a series of platforms and traps, to get from a starting point to an ending point, on a series of delightfully rendered scenes. Unlock new characters and levels as you go, to keep the game evolving and fresh for hours.

I used to love this game, but now it's become the pinnacle of micro-transaction economics.

Red Risk might be an awesome game, but I cannot play it.

Whenever I try to run it, I receive terrible graphical corruption in the menu background. Clicking on UI elements registers within the game only very rarely, making it almost impossible to operate. I cannot even start the game itself.

I am not the only Linux user suffering these problems. The developer would not answer my repeated pleas for help.

The following links demonstrate:

I am really sorry that I have to leave this game a bad review. I really, desperately wanted to play it.

This is a basic, anime-themed small-scale MMO, produced by a single developer, for both English and Japanese audiences. It's quick, easy, fun, ♥♥♥♥ and very kawaii. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a simple MMO, and doesn't have the lofty expectations of a triple-A title.

The character customisation options are simple and fun, and not overwhelming. You have three classes, each with two hair styles. Your starting costume can be changed at the first town (literally two quests in), with more costumes and hair styles at the main city (easily accessible by level five). There are many species of NPCs, including humans and guineas (intelligent, bipedal hamster-like creatures).

The combat is simple. The game has point-and-click third-person combat with melee and ranged weaponry, with various weapon types and upgrades to be earnt.

The music is great, and very fitting for the anime stylings, and is engaging without being noticably repetitive. If an album was released for the game, I'd probably buy it, simply because the music is that good.

Some features (such as the in-game bank) are yet-to-come, and some stores in the city seem to be a bit bare, but the game is very playable as-is, and I found it extremely enjoyable.

If you're looking for something with the depth and breadth of Blizzard's World of Warcraft, Trion Worlds' Defiance or Bethesda's Elder Scrolls Online, then this game probably isn't for you.

But! ...if you're looking for some quick and simple fun, possibly with a few friends, then this might be just what you're looking for!

I'm really not quite sure what the developers were aiming for when they designed this simulator. What is claimed to be a 'Search and Rescue' simulator is more like a 'chase the red dot, and find the tiny objects hidden in the grass' simulator. You'll spend mission after mission traversing the countryside, searching for asthma inhalers, inflatable crocodiles, baseball caps, boots, and if you're really lucky, an immobile human being. Although the people looked more like broken animatronics slowly thrashing in the grass than any kind of real, injured person.

You have two modes of transport: your feet and your trusty bicycle. Although your bicycle seems to tear across terrain at the speed of an F16 Falcon fighter jet. Furthermore, your character seems to suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome, and has trouble traversing the landscape for more than a few minutes at a time. Whether you're on foot or on bike, you'll likely become exhausted before you can complete your arbitrary mission. Once you get exhausted, your boss blessedly will end your outing... "You're in no condition to continue, Ranger."

You'll encounter all sorts of wildlife that meander around aimlessly, oftentimes with their hooves slicing through the air and failing to come into contact with the ground. They do not mind your presence, until you come within spitting distance, and then they'll leg it like a bank robber on methamphetamines. I approached an alligator, largely because I was bored out of my skull. I expected it to lurch forward and tear me limb from limb, a fine diversion from the monotony of collecting lost miscellania. But it did not even turn its head to look at me; it scrambled away like a frightened rabbit, and disappeared into the opaque water of a nearby river. There was nary a pixel shader or transparent surface to prove that there was ever an alligator there.

Graphics wise, the game is not particularly acceptable. Don't expect graphics along the lines of theHunter 2013 or Crysis. I turned the graphics quality up, and my hefty gaming rig experienced repeated stuttering and pausing. The grass became so dense I could barely find anything, and it even began poking up through the solid floor of my ranger station and through solid rock. I turned the graphics quality down, and it felt like I was playing on my old Nintendo 64. And in the default graphics quality midpoint, the object and grass pop-in was so obvious and awkward that I began to feel like a mystical druid from a discarded fantasy novel, causing plants to spring up and grow in seconds, whereever I tread. I also noticed z-battling issues on some of the textures (flickering between two textures for two objects occupying the same physical space), particularly on the battlements of the fort.

The boss of the ranger station, who only appears in text messages and never actually seems to appear in game, makes the attempt to be a lighthearted sidekick and ally, and the primary source of the weak 'stories' that might exist. He makes 'quips' when you find the wrong objects during your missions, and makes lousy excuses as to why he is not taking the missions himself: "I'd do it, but I've... uhh... I've got a migraine." One particularly strange mission requests you to find a little girl's diary, and a couple of emphatic comments are made about never, ever looking inside. Presumably she keeps her plans for world domination within.

The game might be fun for people looking for a very simple hunt and click game, and who are willing to overlook the aforementioned shortcomings, but I could not tolerate it for long. Perhaps worth the price for a few dollars, but not full price.
