Everything in this game is good: controls, combat, bosses, music, story, animation, graphics, everything... except for the map design.

The map just doesn't form a cohesive location. You look at something like the map from Symphony of the Night, and if you've played it, then you can instantly tell which part of the map is which, like the giant staircase, the clocktower, or the caverns, but in this game rooms just don't form a cohesive map. The Metroidvania aspect isn't that good either, you just kinda press switches and use keys instead of gaining unique abilities to bypass obstales.

If you can look past all that, then you'll enjoy it, I know I did. Not much to talk about anything else because it's just that, good.

They completely ignored everything people hated in 1 and left all of that in.

The core fighting mechanics are very good, everything else is lame. The music is generic, Yugo Kanno can do much better, fighting enemies can be a challenge because of all the particle effects your characters gets surrounded by. The interface is absolute trash with walls of text surrounded by numbers, bosses are a SLOG to get through. I've played enough to drop it (don't look at my playtime, I've played it offline).

If you want a good action game, then play Devil May Cry 3-5, Bayonetta 1 &2, Ninja Gaiden games, Metal Gear Rising, Doom Eternal, and Sekiro.
If you want an action RPG, just replay Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Monster Hunter, or maybe play The Surge, I dunno.
If you like endless grinding with RARITIES and sheet, then my condolences.

Just stop wasting our time and make Ninja Gaiden 4.

Oh, and the port is trash.
