Honestly? While the game has its problems and is certainly lackluster in a few regards, it nonetheless is a good time. Very detailed and intricate map like you'd expect from an Arkane game, satisfying movement and shootin, and a few nice surprises throughout the campaign. Not a must-play (like everything else Arkane has put out), but if you can get it on sale and also like vampires, you could do a lot worse!

I can only rarely be arsed to write reviews nowadays, but I feel like I owe it to the dev after all the unimaginable work and effort she put in and made something really quite remarkable almost entirely by herself, taking over a decade. G String is, if nothing else, an inspiration, even if it's a somewhat cautionary one. It shows that even with hardships in the way and fate playing with a stacked hand against you, it's still possible to create something meaningful and valuable.

And even with all that mushy stuff aside, it's also simply a fun, creative, fascinating game that scratches an itch for me that is very rarely scratched, and with a lovely (if incredibly bleak) aesthetic to boot. It's got its flaws, it's not perfect, but then nobody and nothing is. It's just a damn good game that deserves far greater exposure. If Cyberpunk Half-Life 2 sounds even a little bit up your alley, go play G String.

Now this is an interesting twist on the formula I didn't expect. Such a little thing, answering questions for an established character rather than for myself, but it really changed the flavor of the whole thing... While this one didn't punch me in the guts like some of the others did, it was a lot of fun. And apparently, I did a Fantastic job being an advisor! Didn't seem like it to me, but hey, I'll take it!

My secret word is MORALE. And in my opinion, Magnus should be sticking around with King Haralt. If the King doublecrosses him, he'll just turn into a little skeleton sprite.
