All of a sudden, I got an emergency warning on my phone. It read: “Citizens of Nate Higgers, lock your doors and close your windows. Whatever you do, do NOT leave your home. If you are out in public, drive home immediately.”
The emergency warning didn’t specify the reason why we had to. I locked all my doors and closed my curtains anyway. Doesn’t hurt to listen to the warning, I thought. I switched to the news channel to see if I could get any more information. I saw the news headline: “the random chimp event has arrived. all black people around the city are suddenly showing aggressive behavior. Hide inside your home now to stay safe”.
