I did not think my first negative review would be for a game I was so excited for, and had so much faith in the developers of.

I do not doubt the game WILL be good eventually. Maybe that is blind optimism based from not being able to return this game by the time the issue start to show themselves. Ignoring optimization and general performance issues that I guarantee were present during development.

Update: A year later and there has bee good improvement. It is still not where I think any of us had hoped or expected it to be, but at least it has plans to improve. I think that at its current stage, it is at least, markedly enjoyable. It has not expanded on the firsts in any way, but the gap is narrowing.

Early Access Review
As it stands, I have gotten twice the game play leading to the first dojo than I got from the entirety of Pokemon shield, with half the cost. Design wise it has been mostly pros. with its weakest points largely being early access so I have a lot of hope for the developers if they keep it up.

An amazing game from a great series.

Similar to castlevania / metroid games in the sense of you will die, a bunch, but its how you learn the game. Go in, enemy pops out from somewhere die, go in kill him get killed by his buddy. The game will addict you. It is known as the easier of the three souls games, but it is the easiest to get into so might actually be the best starting point if you are curious about the series.

There will be a dx11 version of the game with the DLC and some new stuff, but it will likely be full retail price. From what has been said though if you own the original and the DLC you will get access to an update to get the same benifits. No clue if that will stay the case or not, however it is somethign to keep in mind.

Regardless the game is fun and if you want the no whistles and bells original ds2 game that is available right now, you wont regret it.
