Majesty the Fantasy Kingdom Sim is a game about kingdom of heroes going on an adventure. Like in other games with indirect control you rule your kingdom while population lives on their own. Guards patrol and protect your city. Ratmans slaughter tax collectors and loot your markets. Trolls troll. Heroes going on adventure, level up, buy loot, and relax in your local tavern rising mugs for their Glorious King.

Yes, right, heroes level up and are going on adventure. An indirect control RTS where minions playing own game of RPG. And this game if based of Advanced Dungeons&Dragons tabletop roleplaying game. Game even comes with couple of bestiary pages with monsters you can use in your tabletop campaign. Prepare to meet Warrior, Rogue and Wizard or even more exotic classes like druidic Cultist, barbarians of Krolm or Solaris sorceress from Dark Sun setting(yes, Solaris are not negroidal, they've just charged with the magic of the sun).

Sadly Cyberlore, studio that created this game, has been closed. But game had following of hardcore fans all those years, and original developers got their hands on the game few years ago. They've made a free HD version, and even updated game with Steam multiplayer option. It's in beta, but pretty much stable, we've played lots of games with friends and experienced only a single crash. To gain access to steam multiplayer you should opt into beta2 in Steam library game's options. Multiplayer is not that balanced, but really fun to mess with. It's a sandbox, so you can play PvP or co-op survival. If you don't have friends to play this game with - ask on Steam community forums, multiplayer community is still alive and will warmly welcome you.

Should you get this game? If you're a fan of RTS, RPG or fantasy, surely do. At last you can get it on sale as a giggle. Game is fun just to mess with and a good addition to your collection, because it's unique, there is nothing like this game.


Played this game under GNU/Linux using Proton. Everything works flawlessly including ability to play cross-platform multiplayer with Windows users. For those who remember old Linux port by LGP(was it 60$?) this is huge.
