First off, most of the people reviewing this as a bad game are the people that make PC gaming look bad. They are the nazi neckbeards who need everything perfect.

Now that that is out of the way, this game was actually surprisingly fun. I never liked replay games like Killing Floor, or games like Halo, it was a personal thing. But contrary to people saying awful things about this game, I bought it for the sale and was pretty impressed. With the chemistry for replayability and also versus mode, it makes this game great with friends. The idea of a Dino survival game is also very novel and interesting. The game is sort of clunky in some places, but otherwise the game is really fun all around. Probably not worth 15 dollars, but definitely pick it up if its on sale.

Even with the extreme hype and fun concept, Starbound was shockingly underwhelming to me. It had plenty of content and stuff to get, but there wasn't really anything to do with the stuff. I didn't play it much, but it seemed like it was just go to planet, kill boss, find stuff, rinse, repeat. There was the big tentacle monster I saw in trailers, but the game was so boring, that I could not get myself to play that far into it. This game failed to me for the same reason Cube World failed, except for updates. It has tons of content, but you reach a point where everything is exactly the same. While this game is actually being updated, I feel it may come to fruition, but as of right now you can't do much at all, at least last I played. I'd be hesitant to buy this game until they add more stuff to do.

This game has serious, serious potential. When you first start playing you feel surprisingly immersed in the world and enjoy it very much so. You want to be the guys with Kevlar who go around killing everyone. And the fight to get there is the main part of the game. While its difficult because almost no matter where you live you WILL get raided on populated servers, that makes the game more challenging and fun. However, this game currently has a huge flaw. There comes a point when you get all the recipes, a huge house, all the guns you wanted, 900+ unused shots, every airdrop you want, etc. It gets repetitive and boring because there is no higher goal to chase, no advanced technology to figure out. While the game is still in alpha, this is understandable, and I know Garry does good work, and he works damn hard doing it. I feel like this game won't end up like Cube World and never be updated again ever, but it will peak to a game of nigh perfection in its genre. I eagerly wait for the day that comes around. In the mean time though, should you buy this game? 30 hours of fun now and possibility of 100's later. Yes please.

Fantastic grind game with good mechanics. Fun to play with friends and attempt to gain new levels, masks, and items. Only problems I have with it are that the AI on the bots isn't the best, so they are given a ton of health to make up for it. The enemies also have a good amount of health and do ridiculous damage, leaving players in the dust.
