Early Access Review
hitched a free ride with a nice group through the stormwall. they gave me tons of high level schems, outfits and a glider. wasnt until they started shooting innocent newbie players that i first notice the pirate flag on the ship. 10/10 best community

This review's purpose is to help people who may be second-guessing themselves about buying this game, or those who are unsure what to make of the rest of the reviews.

Reading all these negative reviews will make you double up for a moment, re-think your purchase and perhaps even view this game negatively as well. However, there's an unfairness to the reviews this game received last night and I am positive in due time they will get more positive.

Before I get into the paragraphs, let me start by saying the minimum system requirements are incorrect and I would replace them with the following:

OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: nVidia GTX 650, AMD Radeon 7870
Storage: 10 GB available space

While this game was quite obviously made for a heavily packed next-gen gaming PC, it IS playable on the minimum above if played on low graphics and a set framerate of 60. Even on these low settings the game can be beautiful and enjoyable. Any other problems others have had with the game are easy fixes that have even been sorted by the dev team themselves.

I trust in this game's success as I trust in the dev team who within 3 hours of PC release have immediately tackled a majority of the issues within the game, and I can only imagine the next proper patch will make it run even smoother.

It's important to remember this game runs on online servers, so stuttering issues may also be due to the millions of people playing the game at the same time rather than graphics. Playing at 5am BST is as smooth as a baby's butt cheeks. Yes this is a fault that made the game's release jittery, but I know it will be fixed.

Next: Is this the game for you?

Many have asked themselves this during the lead up to this game's release. To put it in the most simplest way, imagine a relaxing walking/flying simulator in space with heavy RPG elements. There are pathways you can follow which appear as quests, you can aid aliens and receive gifts, trade with aliens, buy their ships (which there are thousands of variations of), learn a language, discover secrets, solve riddles, fight pirates in space and intimidating sentinels on ground, and make your own choices.

The best way I can put it: if you were excited for this game when it was announced at E3, or followed it up, loved the concept and so on, then this is a game for you. If you weren't too ecstatic about the idea, then you might want to wait for a sale (though I doubt that would be very soon considering the game will just be updating more and more as the months go by).

I do not have an opinion on the pricing as I feel it is a standard price for all big-name games. I agree in its current state it is quite overpriced, but in my own 18 hours I've had a great time and have gotten absorbed right into this universe. So yes, I feel I've gotten a money's worth game. Like I said before, I feel like it's a matter of how you may feel about this kind of genre of game.

Other important things to take note of:

- There are very long timeframes where you will do nothing. You could be flying to an outpost for 5 minutes (real time). @HelloGames, this could be fixed with a shorter boost that could be used within planetary interference.

- They've said the game is seamless and that there are no loading screens but there very much are some. Everytime you use the hyperdrive to warp to another system, you will be sat for a good long while as you wait for the new system to generate for you. Personally this isn't a problem as I understand it is generating from scratch a giant space sandbox with huge planets and an enormous amount of interactive content.

- As I mentioned earlier, there is an online system that tries to remain active at all times. This may be what interferes with your gameplay at times. While the chance of you meeting another player is 0 to none, there is always, always, that one rare possibility. Who knows when that will happen and what will happen if it does. Could HelloGames have lied about the supposed multiplayer and just not programmed it in? We'll just have to wait and find out.

- No Man's Sky is released on console and PC, but I must, must recommend for you to get it for the PC. It was made with the PC in mind. Not only does it look much better graphically but it plays better as well. This isn't a "PC Master Race" thing, I've seen the game run on both and on PC it is ultimately better. Even if you are someone who prefers playing on consoles, it is fully controller compatible so you can always plug in a controller to your PC and have the ultimate experience.

EDIT: SWERY DITCHED THE GAME AND LEFT ME ON THE STREET TO DIE
the game will unfortunately be unfinished but it's still the best i am 100% here for this unfinished game

telltale meets an actually fun quick time event mechanic.
honestly though this game will make you love QTEs, very satisfactory.
lovable and charming characters thrown into an intriguing tale of mystery, comedy, tragedy - it's definitely worth a buy.
here's to season 2!

cons:
-sometimes lags which causes a lot of clipping no matter your graphics card
-paid dlc for outfits that you can unlock in the base game anyway? i mean, cmon......
-other than that my only problem is that i never played this sooner!

pros:
-you can dress them up
-the QTEs
-the soundtrack
-you can dress them up
-cat roommate
-you can dress them up
