I was a very big fan of the original Frostpunk, all DLC, everything finished. Nonetheless I think Frostpunk 2 being a departure from the first game is not a bad thing. It innovates, and does something different. I think it worked, it's a fantastic game. Saying it's "bad" because it's not more of Frostpunk 1 is a little short-sighted I think, because, again, it's *not* the same game. It's its own thing, and it's fantasitc.

Really friendly solo developer, lots of charm, all content free, limitless challenges, achievements, etc. Very clearly a passion project and it shows - this game has what a lot of other games lack nowadays: a soul

I got the original dead space (2008) about a year ago but wasn't able to get it running on my laptop, so this was technically the first game I played in the series. This game is the tits man I love it so much. It converted me into a deadspace fan but more than that it made me like the genre. I thought I was the type of person who could never like horror this game LITERALLY MADE ME LIKE HORROR MEDIA.

I went back now with a new computer and some community patches to try DS '08 and Motive have seriously done nothing but mog the original. Every change compliments what was already there. Every modernisation doesn't just respect the source material, but also iterates and improves on it.

It only makes sense for comically evil EA to do the comically evil thing and shut down any future plans for follow-ups to this remake. I was really looking forward to see what Motive could do next. They have 100% proven themselves with how good this game is. But never mind the basically unanimous praise this game got, it didnt sell enough copies to satisfy their corporate overlords, now Motive is consigned to a support studio role for the next battlefield AGAIN. It must suck to make something brilliant only to be sent back into their cuck chair.

Buy the game. I love it. Maybe with enough love another one will get made. I guess we'll see

As of writing, only like 20-30% of the game is even finished, but its still more than enough to enjoy. It's shockingly polished given that its ONE GUY developing the whole thing. The performance is a little poor, but there's like 5 different up-scaling modes which mostly makes it fine to play. The town planning, construction and job systems are great, especially how interconnected it is with the geography (how fertile the soil is, seasonal changes in fuel consumption, seasonal growth of berries, etc).

The only complaints I have at the moment, besides the lack of content (again, can't really complain considering how someone was even able to make something like this in the first place) is the tutorials & communicating problems to the player. Right now the "help" menu is pretty bare-bones and is a 60-70% chance of not really telling you any useful information.

For example, I bought a horse for my trading post because I was given the option. I assume it helped, but I still have no idea what it did. Did it speed up trade frequency? Speed up transporting goods from the town to the post? Lower costs to open routes? The help menu simply states "Horses take up livestock slots", maybe I got that wrong but it was a single line talking about something the player could guess pretty easily.

For the communication, there's not much outside of the first 2-3 popups to teach the player how the game works, which is a little daunting given that this game is really, really complex at times. I still, two games in, have no idea how troops work, how the positioning of battles work, or any combat really. If there are any issues with your supply chain for goods, often checking your people assigned to it will just say "waiting"... for what? You'll have to manually check to see what's wrong.

Also, it's not explained what assigning different people to different buildings will do. Do I need a family to stay working in the livestock trading post to keep the animals from running away, or do I only need to assign them to it when I want to trade livestock? Or is it like another building in the game - a hitching post (also for working animals)- where it can still operate without anyone assigned to it?

I understand reading this may make it seem like I started to lose fun for this game as I played more, but honestly I don't have much to say about the other aspects because I liked all of them. The fact that the only problems that I have are with UX, tutorials, conveying info is a good thing. I think that these are great problems to have because it's not like a massive overhaul is needed, just some extra paragraphs or text for the most part. Right now the number of guides online is small but growing fast, and the wiki is still just starting, but given maybe a week or two I'm sure there will be tons of stuff to check and read for help. If you're fine with having to google here and there then I really really recommend giving this a try. I think I love this game already. Can't wait for more.

TL;DR: Fantastic game, not much new player tutorials or ways of understanding game systems. If you're fine with learning by mistakes, 100% get it. If not, I still recommend just waiting 2 weeks to a month for guides to be published or patches to be released and giving it a shot anyway. Manor Lords is great.

Love it. Very replayable, great gameplay, great story, great progression, great customisation. My only criticism is sometimes the servers are a bit unstable but the game itself more than makes up for it. I love any sci-fi satire, very solid 9/10 right now 10/10 whenever the multiplayer is flawless. Do yourself a favour and buy it
