A clear upgrade from Kingmaker. Systems and mechanics from the previous game are just overall updated with more features, less junk, and tons of little QoL improvements.

There's still a decent amount of bugs, both minor and major, but very few are game breaking. Some of them are baseline unity issues, such as that classic "being in a menu maxes out your CPU", some of them are issues with the game (Retraining). They need fixing, don't get me wrong.

But it's just a straight upgrade to Kingmaker in almost every regard. Writing, gameplay, UI, Companion stats, etc. etc. There's some serious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with some encounter balance (please stop giving bosses permanent pre-buffs, it turns Dispel from a powerful option to a required option you need to dedicate someone's entire build to), but it's not insurmountable.

All-in-all, if you even somewhat liked Kingmaker, you're going really like Wrath. If you didn't like Kingmaker for non-genre/system reasons, I think giving a few weeks or months and picking Wrath up on sale is still a good idea.

I'll start off saying that I am a huge fan of monster girls. Harpies, kitsune, really anything fluffy. So when I first heard of this game months and months ago, I was pretty excited. I knew it was gonna be an idle clicker game and that it would mostly be a bit of a distraction rather than a full visual novel or whatever you might think from NekoWorks. But I wasn't expecting something a cheap and empty as this.

First, I'll address that "months and months" statement I made. This game was announced originally for November 2017, but when November ended it was pushed back to February 2018 and we started seeing character designs in December. Then March rolled around nobody heard a single thing from anyone involved with the project. Some Twitter posts from the artist said vague statements like "in the coming weeks" or the generic "soon". Even that eventually turned into "we don't know".

So the game coming out with no announcement or fanfare was really...weird. There's no official updates, no word from any devs or publishers...just nothing.

Next, we have the matter of the content of the game. I'll say that, as usual, Sayori's artwork is top-notch, both in the SFW and NSFW categories. I have a personal problem with there being waaaay more freshly squeezed man milk in each scene than usual, going beyond even Nekopara's firehose accidents, but that's purely personal.
The problem is everything else. Stock sound effects (and barely any of them), bad music, stock particle effects, generic backgrounds, and zero animations (well, the summoning circle moves, but I don't count that). Even when you summon, it's just a panning image of the character. The unmoving, static character that will never change, not even facial expressions when greeting you for the first - and only! - time. If you don't have the R18 patch, there will be absolutely zero changes to a scene. Even when it says "she mashes my face into her chest" the image doesn't even flinch. Even then, the R18 doesn't actually have any boob-to-face mashing either. It skips right over it and onto the next part.

But then we get to the real meat of the content itself: the touching scenes ("touching" if you added the patch). It's nowhere near the level of quality that NekoWorks normally has. The writing is almost goofy sounding, it's stilted, the self-insert OC uses a lot of questionable word choice ("It hurts when it gets hard, can you help me?" is a line used in real-world rhape. I hate getting all SJW about it, but there's some weird underlying coercion thing going on that just doesn't feel right). It really doesn't help that this is unskippable text. There's no autoscroll, no quick scroll, nothing. You have to manually mash Enter or M1 to advance text. Not really all that fun when trying to simultaneously mash yer sausage.

Plus, there's really not that much text to begin with. A lot of the lines are standard grunting noises and such.

Lastly, and here's probably the worst bugbear and the #1 reason I will tell you to just wait a few days and look up the images on your favorite gallery site instead of playing, it is a bad Idle Clicker. It outright resets your progress every time you summon a new girl. Removes all units, removes all gold, removes all "magic". But this doesn't prevent it from upping the requirement to summon again by a massive degree. That's typical Idle Clicker stuff, but the reset isn't.

It all just serves to push it's paid currency, which is used for time skipping.

So, in short, it's an annoying clicker game that has barely any clicking or involvement (and the resources are thematically generic, not tying into the setting or even the theme or mongirls), the scenes are far below the quality put out by the same people before it, and the publishers/dev and dead silent and the artists involved no longer seem to be involved.

There're two last major issues, though.
1) If memory serves correctly, 12 girls were originally advertised, yet there are only 9 spaces in the Base. I'll remove this line if memory served incorrectly.
2) Time traveling and Cheat Engine both work, which is why the achievements are absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Early Access Review
Sweet jesus, it may have many Elder Scrolls-esque glitches and is glaringly incomplete, but I've put in 11 hours in two days and am nowhere near done, and have been enjoying every moment.

I hate poker because it is considered a sport.
However, be it with friends or The Heavy, it is far more enjoyable to play than watch.

Also, it is INCREDIBLY satisfying to beat Tycho.

If you really like tycoon style games, but also wanna kill stuff, this is a great game. Assuming you can stand the sheer amounts of anime cuteness it contains, that is.
