I used to like this game, but I went back to Mordhau and realized I was missing out. This game isn't optimized very well, despite being on the same engine as its competitor, and the combat feels archaic compared to the Mount and Blade: Bannerlord style of combat its competitor has, with the multi-directional swing mechanics being reduced to mere left and right swinging.

Also, it has SEVERAL battlepasses (in a niche genre game???) and a cheating problem. The devs don't really care and try to silence those who talk about it. Damn shame.

Hell, I don't even like Mordhau but I keep coming back to it because this game was such a massive letdown for me. If you want to play a good medieval game, Chivalry 1 is still up for sale. So you can go play that too. This slop doesn't deserve its player count.

The PSN Debacle Killed This Game.

Ever since then, the community has become much more toxic, with moderators in their official server getting mad if you reacted to their posts using the wrong emojis of all things. Not to mention, the developers keep nerfing literally every weapon in the game for no reason, and they don't care about optimizing the game at all, so expect it to run worse once they start adding new shaders and effects.

Stay far away from this game. It's on its downward spiral. I'm genuinely disappointed in Arrowhead for delivering such a sub-par product with the budget that they had. For shame.

So after today, the Garry's Mod team decided to pull all Nintendo-related models and assets from the store because of a copyright troll. Two decades worth of history are now actively being scrubbed because of their cowardly decision to bow down to such lunacy. It's very clear going forward that these developers have no regards for their history and what made them what they are today. What's next? Is Activision going to come after you for having their guns and animations ported over here from COD? Please.

It seems that the only way to preserve any content from this game going forward is by lurking old forum post archives and/or using a "free", older version of the game depending on how deep this workshop cleansing goes. Unbelievable.

I'm buying the second installment of a competitor game. This game is just not worth it anymore.

As many others have said I love this game but after playing it for over 2 years and watching how toxic the mods have become, YES THE MODERATORS NOT THE COMMUNITY, it's just not worth it anymore. The combat became absolutely nerfed with the latest updates, completely ruining the flow of gameplay, and too many people keep using feints to compensate for how long it takes to kick of all things for now.

I used to LOVE mordhau's maps, because of the fact they made you FEEL like you were invading a small town or conquering a torn battlefield (except you, crossroads, ♥♥♥♥ you). It was honestly one of the best times that I have ever had when playing the game, but seeing the changes they did to maps, like shortening Feitoria big time and taking out more and more pieces of other maps, it all ends up just not feeling good anymore. Like the devs just don't care. Add that to the fact the developers keep adding dlc for things that should be free and keep trying to profitize off the game even more just shows how awful of a state this game is in.

You've lost another player, Triternion, I liked your game but more and more people are starting to realize what you've done to it over the years. You cannot fix perfection but you definitely can ruin it.

The mods were fun though.

Possibly the worst VR title I have played to date

Decided to give this game another go out of boredom and I ended up hating it even more, and let me explain why.

The entire game feels like a tech demo. Unlike its desktop counterpart, which is actually fun, this version of the game was very poorly put together. The optimization is absolutely terrible, as my PC can handle Pavlov VR just fine but this game stutters horribly occasionally, and the animations of the "red guys" stutter as well. Even after looking up guides on how to try and fix it myself I have come to the conclusion that it simply is just going to be this bad every time I play the game normally.

The art style is also terrible. White-on-white is fine for a Desktop game (although I much preferred the dark, grey noir art style of the demo I played back in 2014), but in vr its terrible and makes me have to sit down occasionally because of how bright it is. The game is also very short and the developers have to compensate for it by making you play the same levels but "woah new challenge mode". I understand the Desktop version also did this but the desktop version at least had nice maps you could jump around. These maps are small and very crammed to make up for the fact that the developers don't understand how walking works and you have to teleport everywhere after you get a certain number of frags.

Also let me make this clear, YOUR HITBOX IS UNNECESSARILY LARGE. The bullets will fly past your ear or shoulder and you think its fine but the game registers it as a hit regardless. It's almost as if they simply surrounded your head with a large square box out of laziness rather than make it at least a little more thinner and somewhat human shaped.

No custom map support either. You would expect a game being charged this high to have an active workshop filled with custom maps and guns to mess around with but no. You get the story and challenge modes and that's it for a low low price of $25. Unbelievable.

Final Verdict: 3/10. Great concept but the devs have no idea what they are doing and charged it way too high. I would usually pay about $5 for a game lacking this much content, but I was given this game as a gift so that's the only reason I'm not asking Valve for my money back. I might boot this game up sometimes to get try and get achivements or get exersize but thats about it really.
