I played this once several years ago. I am now playing it again. I do like it quite a bit; it's a good visual novel, IMO. Solid characters, decent story, et cetera. Menu functionalities for saving and audio/text logs are decent too, though creating frequent permanent saves rather than quicksaves can be a little more of a hassle.

My biggest gripes:
1. I wish that the dialogue choices had more "serious" options. Pretty minor complaint.
2. Bit too heavy on the fanservice for my preference.
3. Voice acting doesn't always line up with text and there are very occasional mispronunciations.

Nothing negative to say about it otherwise. I enjoy the music and art style a lot. For the price, very worth.

It's not just a nostalgia trip. I think this game is genuinely good (though not without room for improvement).
Pros:
-Combat & skill system reminds me of Paper Mario: TTYD - actively involves you
-Silly dialogue/writing, that still has something to say and isn't all just fluff
-Fleshed out characters
-Great variety of spells/abilities/skills
-Great lore/worldbuilding that is entirely optional for you to get into
-Made by one person??? ENTIRELY??!
-Great music

Cons:
-Combat reactions always have the same timing, which can be a little dull
-Party members that aren't in your party don't gain EXP, which can make grinding for levels very annoying when you have 10+ possible party members
-....Yeah, I got nothing else, really.

It's worth the ten dollars if you like this kind of game.

Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL game, very fun, and awesome, awesome combat and gameplay. I do wish it was longer though.

TONS of fun. Especially with friends. Artifacts are both collectibles and mix things up. Much like other roguelikes, death is a fact, not an option. Easy to play, hard to master. If you love lore, well, there's a good bit in all the item and monster logs too.

Very fun to play - you're at the mercy of our lord, RNGesus, so expect to do many runs and to fail many of those. Defeat isn't an option, it's a fact. Normal is still difficult, so starting on Easy would probably be good for beginners. Total blast.

Tons of fun to play, and very challenging. Expect to die. A lot. Game has a sense of humor that starts to feel snarky after awhile, but I think it gives it a bit more spice. Everything goes at your pace, so it's definitely relaxing and very strategical, though if you try to play it fast, you're probably gonna have a bad time.

Personally, assuming the original Don't Starve has a tutorial, you should play that first. The multiplayer does not come with one. To me, it's kinda stupid you have to fork out money to play multiplayer, but hey, if you like it man. Anyways though, I'm sure it's a blast to play if you know what you're doing, but if a friend gifts it to you so you can play with them, go watch some gameplay videos or read some guides first if you don't know what to do.

If you love your music, or if you just enjoy a nice relaxing game, get this game. It's got great replayability with different songs, and the difficulties range from "I can basically sit here and watch" to "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is impossible", so it suits your mood no matter what. just a nice little game to play.

Personally, one of my all-time favorite games. Might get some flak for this, but I kinda feel it does what Undertale did, but more subtly. Stealth's great, supernatural powers add all kinds of interesting combos to the mix, wonderful, wonderful lore....All around, lovely game.

Probably my second favorite game ever, right behind Starcraft II, even though my computer could barely handle it. As Totalbiscuit said, "it feels so good to just go out and kill aliens." The simple joy of slaughter. Also, the difficulties are deceiving. Normal is still quite difficult, and Impossible is just as it says. No false advertising, but it's still a total blast. Be warned that it's a HUGE time vampire, and you could literally play it all day and forget to eat.
