Currently my favourite game. It's like a very minimalistic version of Call of Duty but with the super fast-paced gameplay of Quake (as long as you slide-hop; look up how to do it!).

I don't have many hours on this game through Steam as I usually play in browser or through a third-party client such as MTZ or idkr. My Krunker profile shows that I have around 286 hours of in-match playtime*.


Many hackers in public matches, but they are apparently working on anti-cheat. The 'KPD' system, allowing you to report players and have moderators monitor them in real-time, is very useful in the meantime. This system is comparable to CS:GO's Overwatch system, however moderators will usually show up during the game and ban the players within a few minutes - rather than having to complete the game and then a gameplay demo being sent.


Brand new ranked mode, which can be fun provided the matchmaking gives you balanced teams which seems kinda rare for me (in silver 1). My team is either always getting destroyed, or we're absolutely dominating. But the few balanced matches are very fun.

The ranked mode uses FACEIT, meaning you can earn FACEIT points to buy exclusive Krunker skins, CS:GO skins, Steam wallet gift codes, or even physical hardware and peripherals.

The mission system for earning FACEIT points is rather annoying. You can only select one mission at a time to progress. This combined with half of the missions requiring you to play on certain maps makes it very time-consuming to complete the daily missions, as 90% of matches are played on 2 maps (Sandstorm and Undergrowth) out of the 5 currently available in the competitive map pool.


There are absolutely no pay-to-win mechanics. There is only one currency (KR) which can be earned in-game or paid for with real-life money, and is used only to buy skins from the marketplace or 'spins' (essentially skin lootboxes).

You can also watch an ad every hour (I don't think this is available in the Steam client) to earn a small amount of free KR.

There is a referral program**, that allows users to earn real-life money based on referred players' playtime.

KR can also be donated to 'game' creators.


Krunker has a system that allows people to create custom maps, gamemodes, or experiences - making use of the game's built-in map editor and its own scripting language (KrunkScript). Think of it like Roblox.

There are some very impressive games created using this. Arguably the most impressive one that I've found is called Atrox - a short singleplayer escape room style game.

There's also a recreation of Squid Game, a singleplayer Spongebob-themed game, a third-person battleship game, and recreations of a few CS1.6 maps complete with impressively accurate textures and weapon models.
