I enjoy much about this game; it really tries something that few others even bother to attempt, and it does so with little fear of complexity and often with impressive nuance.

it is, however, utterly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ borked. First, it is simply not possible to keep a gauge on how the economy is doing. One second, you're on the path to recovery. The next, you've entered the great depression. Because these things are algorithmic and not caused by narrative decisions, and the algorithm is kind of ♥♥♥♥♥, it's tough to really have any clue what's going to happen next.

Second, big important inflection points occur (i.e. the budget, and the point at which your credit gets assessed) without much warning. You may be running a deficit before and immediately after assessment, but it only appears to matter if you're in the negative at the exact moment the game decides it matters, which it does not telegraph. It also isn't clear when exactly the budget will happen, and by that point the game will have offered a lot of tempting things to spend your money on (some of which you ought to spend money on!).

Finally, the quality of writing varies. There are significant and frequent typographical errors, which in a wholly-text based game is pretty unforgivable. There are also a few lame jokes, which really cheapen the experience and ruin the vibe of a game that does, at times, really want you to take the game seriously.

The bottom line is that the game does not give you enough information or clearly telegraph the levers you have to interact with its sandbox. It's an interesting game, but I think an overall failure.

This game is fantastic at generating flow-state gaming. The rhythms of combat are pretty well tuned so hitting dodge and activating your various gizmos feels juuuust right. The guns also feel fantastic and have a meat and personality to them which are emphasised by the many different mechanics pertaining to their operation, with each weapon behaving slightly differently and no two being entirely interchangeable. The upgrades are also fun and lean into that weapon personality, allowing you to convert guns from say a hard hitting semi-auto pistol to a mini assault rifle.

Enemy and world design is also fantastic.

Bosses leave some to be desired.

Is gud if you enjoy this kind of thing.

It's adorable and the tutorial is outstanding. Mechanics do appear to have a lot of potential for multiplayer play, however there is apparently some work to be done on the AI side. So perhaps beware if you don't have a friend to play with. It is, however, the price of a bougie sandwich and coffee so consider picking it up and trying to guilt some friends into it later. It certainly seems to be worthy of its asking price.

A very solid shooter, striking a middle ground between the individual skill focus and player parity of Counter Strike with the more fruity moba-esque abilities of Overwatch. One could even go so far as to say, were it not a free to play game, and worked towards a more consistent competitive ruleset, it would certainly give both games a good run for their money. As it stands though it is a bit of a brutal grind (though not Hawken) with a very solid game underlying it. Pity that it probably will never be much more.

CS:GO Review
The best way to describe this game is to compare it to an Onion; the more layers you pull back, the more liable you are to cry. It's a cruel mistress that will take your time and, if you let it, your money, but on the bright side, you probably won't be needing any other game for a while.

This is a legitimately great game. What is it? a wild west FPS. What does it do? Deathmatch, though new modes are in the works. AND IT'S FREE!

Guns? The guns feel SO GOOD. Like stupidly good. Nice kick, great sound assets, and need I say the sheer amount of damage adds real impact to your shots. There are several mechanics to firing your weapon that generally add to the flavor and the feel of the weapons. Every weapon is unique. They have there own reload rules (one at a time, all at once, length of reload, # of bullets in mag), distance accuracies, etc. THERE IS ALSO DUAL WIELDING!!! Really nice system, actually.

Extra stuff in Loadout? Yeyah. There is a secondary weapon/perk system that works realy well. You can select two of these, and they range from throwing knives, to perks that completely change how you score points. Then you select the hand that your character prefers. ambidextrous? Good balance of accuracy between your two hands, and dual wielding is your watchword. Right handed favors the right hand for accuracy, generally speaking long rifles are used with this. Left handed, ultra accurate, but only with the left hand. you cna change the hand your revolver is in by pressing middle mouse.

Map design is stellar, but GraphX are lacking somewhat. But... It's free and frankly you can run this game on a potato (assuming a monitor, and a mouse and keyboard). It's free, try it out, and believe me it's fun.
Server pop ain't bad either.

This is an unimaginably tense, exciting, fun, and, dare I say, intimate, co-op game out there. When you have a good crew, and/or a good captain who communicate and synergize in such a wonderfully fantastic way. The reason I don't play more of it, fellow skeptic, is because of extremely low server populations and the occaisional lag. the first you fix through your presence and the second through your greenbacks. It's fifteen bucks, people. It will probably be the best fifteen dollars you spend this month. So join me, and my numbered flying compatriots in a quite simply wonderful world of airships and bloody annoying artemis missiles. Hate those. Everything else wonderful!
