What a mess.

I can't tell if this game wants to be Game of Thrones, Dark Souls, or Batman v. Superman. But it doesn't want to be Final Fantasy.

The prologue is extremely cringe-inducing and it ruins the tone.

The gameplay is kind of a chore, they tried to make it somewhat challenging, but not in a balanced way, so they just made a lot of hit sponge mini-bosses.

There are also bugs.

Can we finally write this dead series off once and for all? YES

DRG:Survivor borrows enough from Deep Rock Galactic to make it feel varied enough from Vampire Survivors. Sure, it's a bit of a cheap tactic, but it does quite well when stacked up amongst the literal plague of copy-paste Vampire Survivor imitators.

There isn't a lot of content, but you're not playing this game for the story. My guess is you'll get bored around the 40-hour mark, but it doesn't necessarily require your full attention (just remember to get to the drop pod!).

You should probably be somewhat familiar with DRG and Survivors-likes before jumping into this.

Runs well on SteamDeck. Ran poorly with screen tearing on my 4K TV setup (even after fiddling with settings).

Well worth a try for the asking price of $12.99 (or particularly, on sale).

Great casual co-op experience. Don't take it too seriously. I wouldn't recommend it for single-player.

It starts out as a decent coop action/puzzle game, but it has a generic Tomb Raider look and story, and gets tedious in the later levels.

Generic, bland, tedious, and ugly

Starts off well as a "Sonic the Hedgehog game that doesn't hate you" but towards the end turns into that very villain. Fark campaign is tedious.

It's pretty good and what you'd expect, but what is up with the needless begging to link an Epic account?

It's a good throwback to the old days of RTS. Kind of a StarCraft-lite which is the best we are going to get from Steam RTS for the time being.

Underground/indoor filler missions are still a drag, it should not have been hard to learn better from the classics on this. It's only been what about 25 years. The achievements on those missions only double down on the tedium.

Overall pretty decent when on sale.
