TL:DR This game is an addiction in a challenging, hard to learn, grand strategy game form. 10/10

400 Hours after 6 years. (Which is absolutely nothing compared to anyone else)

This game can be hard to learn and can be unforgiving. But when you understand how to play and the subtle nuances in trade, religion, managing an army, etc. The amount of replayability is addicting and immense! Some of the DLC's are not that great but depending on how you prefer to lead you'll find those that are worth it. Other DLC's are a must for certain features (such as El Dorado and custom nations)

This game is a massive time killer and if you can find those who are willing to play a multiplayer game, the hours will rack up easily. Paradox will have a lot to live up to for EU V cause it's very hard to put this down.

TL:DR Better lighting, better gameplay, more cars, F2, but lacking a bit in terms of immersion overall: 9/10

Got this from humble bundle so that made getting this a lot sweeter but as someone who usually gets sport games every few years (2017-2019) The jump was well worth it. The introduction of F2 cars and the updated list of classics (Brawn BGP 001 <3) give a great amount of variety. Career mode is much more immersive though I wish the F2 beginning was more of a whole season instead of situational sprint races. Also the interviews can get very repetitive. Car development feels natural as the more you put in and the better job you do leads to a better car.

Graphically, the new lighting makes night tracks like Bahrain and Singapore look more dynamic, rain spray is much more realistic and difficult, and even in normal conditions with the sheen of fresh tyres are obvious improvements. The cars feel better to drive on pad, and there has been a bigger effort for online races with personal customization and ranking.

The only negatives I feel are the lack of other tracks than those on the calendar (miss Malaysia), minor connection problems online, and the lack of more dynamic action between teams, driver transfers, F2, and actions on track for better immersion.

Good simcade gameplay sounds and textures are very well done. Minor bits can be a lack of variety, slow progression of resource points to develop cars, and the strike against alcohol and cigarette companies made the liveries meh (Williams, old ferrari and McLarens). I mean this review is kinda pointless cause 2019 and 2020 are also here but oh well. 2017 cars though, those massive sharkfins.

It's a fun physics sim/sandbox but it's only as fun as your own imagination. The workshop stuff can keep you busy!
