To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip
The stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

Pls Buy Pls. It's really good

Play this game with a full lobby or none at all, amount of content is pretty good for the price, and if you're a fan of Sniper Elite you obviously would feel right at home here!

TL;DR Buying the deluxe edition for $22 was frankly one of the best things I've ever done.

As of writing this review, it's been just about 2 months, 50 so hours, and one full playthrough (including DLC) of this game since I bought it. In that span, I've had a blast streaming it, and getting introduced to a community I could only describe as a wonderful bunch of ******** The game, as its reputation precedes, is difficult but not impossible, constantly challenging but very rewarding, and filled to the brim with lore and content that are enjoyable alone and especially with some friends.

There are so many intricate side quests, hidden paths, and items that can be easily missed and whats most refreshing is that the game barely tells you anything about them. The feeling of defeating a boss is very satisfying and even moreso when you realize that its not that the fight got easier, YOU THE PLAYER GOT BETTER! This lack of hand-holding and boss difficulty is delightfully old school and something of a lost art.

The two DLCs are decently expansive and have a healthy amount of content; HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM
Despite being about 3 years old it still looks gorgeous and sounds great. The quality of the environments, enemy models, level design, and soundtrack is enough to show you how much care and thought was put into this game artisticly.

In the current/recent climate of the gaming industry being full of what seems to be released works in progress that constantly gets updated later, DS3 was the first time in a while that I felt like a base game wasn't really lacking anything.
I would have gladly paid full price in retrospect but if you're still on the fence, get it while on sale! For $15 Base and $20 ish deluxe edition, there are few steals like that for what you get!

WAR THUNDER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
IN THIS ECONOMY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

On a more serious note, the snail has just gone a step too far. Many of us who bought premium vehicles and account time can barely make any progress in a game that is known for an unbelievable grind. The fact that the devs want to make it even less rewarding is showing how tone deaf they are. That said, can you believe how much worse it is for "free to play" users?

My own first 600 hours were free as a broke HS student and even then I barely managed to go 3/5 tiers of one country and hit a wall of money and research costs. Picked up the game again in 2021 - All my hours after that have been with premium and premium vehicles and guess what? Still have not completed a tree for anyone. At the most tier 5 of now 7 on 1 country. Now unless if I either dump all my money or all my time, there will never be any meaningful progress.

"The Grind" is and has been dependent on nothing but premium content. People love to complain that there are only players with a premium and they leave once they die with them. Well of course, they are trying to make progress and have nothing else at the mid-high tiers.

Buying premium anything should be seen as a way to make things easier, not be a necessary part of making progress. F2P LUL. And that is only on the economy side of things, never mind BR compression, BR changes that do not make sense, and taking away vehicles on arbitrary grounds.

Get it fixed, the player base has been getting bigger yet you do your best to milk us here and there with every update. If this is the end oh well, I can finally go through all the other games that I have.

Procrastination From Final Papers Led to This Review
Background: Tekken was one of the first games I've ever played, since I was 3 with Tekken 3 on the PS1. I've owned every Tekken since on every Playstation and even played in the arcades in Asia getting my ass beat. And yes I do know that Tekken 7 has been out in arcades since 2015 and this really is just an updated version. Heres what I think:

+ From a gameplay perspective, this is the most wholesome and possibly best in the series. Movesets have been updated well, and the addition of Rage Arts (Supers) and Rage Drives (Kinda like meter burn) have been added seamlessly with the timelessness of Tekken's core game. The results are matches where the momentum can swing at any time and always keeping you on your toes (or fingers).

+ Online is also great, the net code is good enought to deter any lag as long as you search for proper connection matches. Tournaments are also a neat addition though wating for your match is tedious. And hey, its also free #PCMR

+ Loading times (especially on an SSD) is much better than you would find on Console as well.

+ The Gallery is a nice touch to see how far the series came from, pretty nostalgic and wallpaper material artworks!

+ Lastly, this Tekken is gorgeous! On Unreal Engine 4, having a good graphics card to churn out 60fps on Ultra gives a very pleasing visual presentation. Character models and post effects are both detailed and vibrant, and you can even have it displayed on 1440p changing the resolution scale. Far better than the 900p on Base PS4 and 1080p with high settings on the PS4 Pro.

However, thats not to say it has its faults.

- Even though fighting games aren't really single player focused, Tekken was always the exception. I'm sad to say that this has got to be the most lackluster and worst single player Tekken ever. Treasure Battles replace Ghost Battles that were in Tekken 5-Tekken Tag 2. While it is pretty similar, not choosing my AI opponents was kinda disappointing and a step back. Another problem is lack of core gamemodes like Survival and Team Battle, and classic minigames are DLC (NAMCO pls).

- The Story is god awful, short, and not even connected with the arcade mode like they did back then. While it was cool to get some backstory on the Mishimas and Akuma was cool to have as a guest, the complete disregard of EVERY NON MAIN CHARACTER to joke 1 battle "episodes" Is a downright travesty. Hell even mainstays like Lei Wulong, Julia Chang, and Marduk aren't even on the roster. Unlike say...Injustice 2, theres not as much replayability here if you're not looking for online play.

- DLC wise, the guest charachters they brought along: Eliza from Tekken Rev., Geese Howard from Fatal Fury, and Noctis from FFXV (Though he should be in Soul Calibur) are cool and very unique. The Tekken Bowl DLC was dissapointing and not worth paying for a classic minigame, and other DLC is character customization items.

- Controller support and PS Bias is a minor complaint. Im using a standard DS4 and having the prompts be all Xbox based is distracting. Also I kinda hate how the PS4 version only gets the Jukebox with all the past soundtracks and classic costumes. Though it is understandable why.

Conclusion: As a fighting game on steam, theres no comparison as of now, very well optimised, beautiful, and fun (Though Injustice 2 might challenge this). As a Tekken game, even better gameplay and online play, but is now the main focus for replayability as it's severely lacking in terms of singleplayer content and story longtime vets of the series are used to. I do reccomend this game but its not as wholeheartedly as I would like to. If I were to score it...7.7/10 (pun not intended)
