Starting a base building sim is always one of the most challenging parts while the end-game can be boring and easy. This game solves this issue by just the start of a building sim over and over again. Start a city, abandon it, repeat. It's a really interesting concept that maintains a high level of difficulty throughout and provides for unlimited replayability, which is a feat few games ever accomplish. Keep the updates coming and I'll keep coming back to this game over and over again!

Great game, although I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but some really annoying things keep happening. The toilet keeps needing to get cleaned, and no one ever does it. I even put in another toilet and the old one that needed cleaning was just forgot about. It would be nice to include a button somewhere to say "Hey, go here and do this right now" or/and the ability to set staff priorities.
Secondly, when printing the paper, I pull the lever, and it always takes me between 5 - 10 times of pulling the lever for it to actually print. Everything is green, it has enough paper, and still it doesn't print the first few times.
Like I said, maybe I'm missing something, but these have been quite annoying to deal with. Despite that, this is a great game!

Great game, and I can't wait for the next one! The sound design and music is phenomenal, the gameplay is very clean. My only complaint is that "Endless" is not really endless, it really ends once you've finished your research tree. After that there really isn't a whole lot to do. But the scenarios are so good, the DLC is definitely worth it

This is a very fun, albeit unbalanced game. Some characters are so much weaker than everyone else I couldn't even be bothered to unlock all their abilities because playing with them was just not fun. The bosses are also not especially fun, as a lot of them are just "deal massive damage to the entire team" and it's very difficult to recover since no one can heal more than 1 person at a time (except with healing items). Also, with so few characters able to hit the very back position, you're stuck with someone who can, which is only a couple characters even capable of doing this, and even less who can deal big damage to the back position. Bosses know both of these facts and use that against you.

While it is true that only a couple characters can deal a lot of damage to the back position, even less are efficient healers, and in my opinion, plague doctor is a must have part of any team because she's the only one who can provide consistent healing. The other healer characters are so bad and unreliable at healing that I often lose runs due to RNG and not due to my own miscalculations. The amount of RNG in this game is kind of ridiculous to be honest.

Now the gameplay loop is actually really fun, and I had a really good time, however the grind became really repetitive and unfun. There's only a few different region, each region only has 1 lair boss, each confession only has 1 ending boss, and each region only has a few different enemies, so you end up facing the same enemies over, and over, and over again. The skeleton enemies, for example, are so plentiful, that there came a point when I was so sick of fighting them.

For a second point, losing your wheel or armor points causes an immediate encounter, and guess what? It's always the lowest tier enemy for the region, so it's not even a challenge, and more of a nuisance. Sure you have to fight them with "1 less character" but that doesn't really matter for these enemies.

All in all, fun game, until you get sick of fighting the same enemies over, and over again. The occasional enemies, such as the grim reaper, are a very refreshing touch, because what makes them refreshing is that I don't have to see them every since run. I just wish there were more enemy variety, but as it stands now, even playing with a new team, I did eventually grow tired of this game.

Also, for those who are complaining about characters being locked behind DLC, have you ever played any other game on Steam? This is very common practice. Neither of those characters are really that game breaking. They are very fun, but not especially more fun than any of the others. I actually found myself using Man In Arms more than the Crusader anyway.

I wanted to post a review early on, and may update later as I progress. I only have 16 hours, which is hardly any time at all, but wanted to post something for reference from a newer player. TLDR: just buy this game. One of the best games I've played in a long time

Let's start with the negatives:
This is my biggest criticism, but the voices are done so well, that I was kinda disappointed my character hardly spoke at all. Some dialogue has started before others have ended resulting in overlapping voices. This is rare, but it has already happened a few times. A few visual glitches, including character animation, some characters clipping into terrain, etc. The camera control could be better too. At one point an enemy was way above us, and due to the camera, I had difficulty attacking him. The movement could also be better, as at times, it is difficult to control where my character goes. Lastly, some stuttering does occur. This is actually fairly common, although it does vary as far as severity, from really mild frame drops, to the camera stops moving altogether for a second.

And the positives. Oh boy is this game fun. Even as someone who's never really played much DnD, I'm having a blast. The world is massive, the voice acting is amazing, the amount of customization is overwhelming. What surprised me the most, was how adaptable everything was. For example, NPC dialogue can change depending on which direction you approach them from. How things interact with each other is also amazing, like oil being set afire due to a fire spell or something. The story and backstories of your companions are very interesting. Because of the customization and adaptable dialogue and circumstances, it has insanely high replay value, and the map is so big that each playthrough will last hours upon hours.

After 38 hours, the campaign is completely finished so I thought I'd write a review!
Let's start with the positives:
Now there are a lot of negatives, however if you don't mind quite a bit of busy work and exploring the world, this is a really fun game. The story, while not the best thing ever, is still good and is a very rewarding adventure.

Negatives:
Poorly optimized. Some fuzzing on the edges, severe lag that can only be fixed by restarting the game. Had to lower the resolution to Medium. Some NPCs were not loaded in correctly (even after a reload of the game) and therefore the entire NPC flickered and vanished altogether when the camera focused on their face for dialogue. This is probably my biggest complaint as a whole, as the lag literally made the game unplayable.

Towards the end of the game, for some reason, there was dialogue overlap, and two people were talking at the same time. One was talking about the end of the game, and the other was about a race. Quite bizarre.

The main character (you) seem to have no personality whatsoever. Sure there are some "bad" and "good" options, but they don't mean anything, and you are just a blank canvas the entire game that just takes everything as it comes, I guess.

Let's talk about combat. It is kinda fun, however, I often found myself accidentally switching between the 4 different spell pages without meaning to, or be aiming at one enemy, cast a spell, and then it hits an enemy I didn't even know was there on the side of the screen. All in all, combat in this game is a mixed bag. Can be really fun, but can be really annoying and messy at other times.

Last thing to mention, is that this game is very much follow this checkpoint, do this. Go to this other checkpoint, and do this. It feels like a lot of busy work. Whether or not you skip the dialogue in this game doesn't really mean much either, for any of the side missions anyway. It is for this reason I probably won't be coming back to this game at all since the campaign is finished, as I've done my fair share of busy work, and only have about 12 optional missions to complete and have very little motivation to actually finish any of them.

Amazing game! Love the hell out of it. Haven't unlocked the 2nd beaver type yet, but very excited to get there eventually! There is a lot of content here, although even so, the amount of content does feel somewhat lacking right now, however with all the updates being made, this will remedy itself in time. The main things I personally would be looking for are more beaver types (as this is a cool idea and there are only 2 so far), and a steam workshop so I can download other people's maps. The amount of maps currently are very few (especially since I like playing the max size and there's only a couple of those), and since each map is completely static, it doesn't allow for as much replayability as I would have liked. Since the terrain is the same from each playthrough, all my towns have been looking fairly the same, in general. Downloading other people's maps would be very cool and challenging.

Anyway love it so far, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for it!

Good game, but sooo expensive or time consuming. You have to pay to unlock anything within a decent time and everything is sooo expensive to buy. Like I have 1 monkey who only has 2 things left to unlock. $10!!! Why is it so expensive? Monkey knowledge: also so expensive, especially since you need monkey cash too, which is also obnoxiously expensive, since everything averages out to cost at least 2000 of those. I expected to be able to pay some money to unlock all the monkeys and the paths, but when it's $10+ PER monkey, this is just so stupid. Additionally, it takes such a long time to gain levels, a long time to gain cash (since each level doesn't really offer much for completion). So you either need time or an insane amount of money.

I am a patient person, but I've been playing this game for 40+ hours and I still haven't unlocked everything? This is my one main complaint. This game is very fun, but if you pay, you lose hundreds of dollars, and if you play, you also lose what like hundreds of hours to unlock everything?

I still haven't finished the game yet, however, this is a phenomenal game, albeit it has a few flaws. The first is the absurd range of weapon designs. The majority of the guns in this game are so terrible that I don't know why anyone would even consider using them. Since the weapon drops are random, there were a few games where I arrived to the first boss, and my friend and I still didn't have any good guns. We beat him, but it took us at least 4 times as long to do so with the guns we had. The balance of this game is just off.

Aside from that, the combat is fluid and very fun. Highly recommend

This is an odd game, partly professional, partly amateur, very greedy.
TLDR: Please do NOT give them any money on gems. The game has pretty graphics and that's all the good I have to say about it.

Okay the amateurish things... Firstly, why does this not launch in full screen? Just the first launch of this game feels amateur. Additionally, in this day and age, how fast a game boots up, and how loading screens there are is just unacceptable in a game such as this. No other game I've played forces you to wait each time you go to the main menu, each time you click on a damn thing. Sure these are just a second or two, but these add up quickly. Loading a menu into another menu is just stupid and amateur. Also, please have us download the full game. Having us download a small portion, then having us download the rest of the game once it is launched makes me feel like this is one of those cheap, free games

Okay now I get to the greedy part of this. I do not have a meta deck and am getting absolutely destroyed in comp. Please make it so you gain gems in casual play? Even 100 gems per game would be fine. All the meta decks use UR cards which maybe you get 3 - 4 in a pack of 10 card packs, but that's not nearly enough for most decks. Also, this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ VIDEO GAME. Just charge us $20 for the game and give us all the cards like OMG, cards prices in this game are outrageous.

The gem packs are just barely not quite enough for the card packs (they don't even try to hide this fact). Then, very maliciously, they made it so only generic card packs are always available. The card packs you actually want are hidden until you get an SR card from that specific pack. Like what in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this? Then there's a damn battle pass as well? Are they out of their mind? How about this? Charge $20 for the game, then have a battle pass for skins or something, and give us at least enough cards to make a deck. I can't play with cards missing from the deck, but to get those cards requires a stupid amount of resources.

Additionally, I play for FUN. I hate playing comp, but I have to to get gems. I don't have a choice. I like playing casual decks (because those are actually fun), but I need gems for those, and I can only get gems by playing with a meta deck in comp. And you only get gems by winning in comp too. At least give us 100 gems if we lose, so we can refine our decks like wtf? This is just ridiculous.
