I usually don't bother with reviews, really. It's been months since I bought this game, but I think the timing is perfect for this.

This game is a spectacle in many accounts:

The graphics and ambience are 10/10
Each time you visit a new planet it tickles all your happy brain cells. From incredibly bright sunsets that covers everything with a white blanket, to awe inducing thick jungles filled with automaton's red eyes encroaching your position. Every planet has something that pulls you into that atmosphere.

Game/Gunplay really satisfying
While it's true that in its core it is arguably simple, that is pushed to(dare I say) perfection. Boiled down it's: run, shoot, interact, repeat. But how it's done, oh boy. Running around an alien planet, gunning down hordes of Terminids, finally launching that ICBM. What enemy's group you engage, when you do so and how are up to you, and all change how each mission plays. Keep close and just move mowing down enemies towards your next objective. Spread out and go guerrilla trying to force the enemy to stretch out its forces.

The load-out is pretty flexible and gives you ample options to face each threat. However, there is so much you can prepare for. Do you pick more anti-tank oriented tools, or try to smash those hordes. Do you pick more eagle stratagems though they share CD, or go orbital crazy despite its longer CD. Should you take a shotgun to spread more Democracy, or a sniper rifle to dish some precise Liberty onto enemy elites. It's up to you each time, so you can change load-out based on mission specifics, planet characteristics, enemy faction, personal preferences and difficulty setting. Or don't. That's Freedom for you.

A community worth Helldiving for
From those who you dive with to those creating amazing content outside, the community is amazing. Every interaction has been positive thus far and I'm positive it's been that way for the majority of 'Divers. And its influence in the game too. All will remember the fallen on Malevelon Creek, and how the community can make a thing out of anything.

True & Consummer Focused Game as a Service
I usually take that term as a warning, marking a game as something that will surely try to prey on me. However, these people at ArrowHead Studios have made me make the first exception. The game is evolving from week to week: new enemies, new missions, new stratagems, etc. Each week the narrative moves depending on previous Major Orders(a community effort to a specific goal) and it's a breeze of fresh air. From the celebration of Victory Day when we pushed the Automatons out of Our Galaxy or their despicable return in force. The containment of the Terminids on the barrier planets or the recent and tragic malfunction of the TCS Towers that resulted in the fall of Meridia, now a Supercolony. This game is constantly moving and providing you with reasons to play. Yes, there are "Battlepasses" in the form of Warbonds. But: they don't offer constant power creep, they don't expire, they are purchasable from in-game super credits and the largest one to date is free.

That takes me to the premium currency: super credits. You can find them in game. You can farm them if you wish so. If you don't want to spend extra past the game purchase, you need not to. It can take a while if you don't make it your goal, but since Warbonds don't expire nor they have mandatory meta equipment(they mostly are sidegrades), you won't "fall behind".

Why I'm posting now
Recent events with Sony pushing PSN accounts have cause a major ruckus on the community. I've been following these dire news with a sense of dread. I really love this game and this situation may very well have been it's doom. Fortunately Sony has backpedaled and HellDivers 2 won't enforce PSN accounts to play it. I simply want to play good games. HellDivers 2 is a good game and I don't want corporate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that doesn't offer anything for the user. So here I am, writing this review to show my love for this game and reinstate the user score this game deserves.

Summary/TL;DR
This game rocks. From visuals to gameplay. It's solid, has a hilarious humour and respects it's players. You will find a ton of fun. Almost every moment of action is 10 times better than modern Action cinema. Come, join the HellDivers.
